We stayed here one night when we visited Verdun. It's interesting to stay in small town France in an area that's not particularly chic, such as Provence. The owner Rene is an entrepreneur par excellence; he buys and sells cars, he develops his chateau, he organizes tours around the world. Our room was large and comfortable, although we did wonder... When you meet Rene you know he loves his Chateau and is proud of the way he has built up this delightful dinner, bed and breakfast business over many years. It is definitely work in progress and has an authentic old style chateau charm. After 4 weeks on the road through Italy and France it was wonderful to be hosted... More

We stayed 3 nights in Rene's chateau in Ancemont. Our spacious and pleasant room was more like a suite, up one flight of stairs, and at the rear of the Chateau, with a large private terrace overlooking the garden, huge bedroom, seaparate WC and very good size bathroom. The house is quite magnificent, and full of antique furniture, pictures and... More

We stayed here for 5 nights. We were met by Rene, who was a very gracious host and a fountain of knowledge, when it comes to the local region. He is more than pleased to give you all sorts of helpful hints and tips. The Chateau is a work in progress that has taken up a lot of Renes and... More

We stayed here 2 nights as a base to visit the Verdun Battlefield area and what a great choice we made in the Chateau de Labessiere when you compare it to the poor hotel offering in Verdun town. We were in the Park room which comes with it's own private terrace. All I can say is that the hotel website... More

My wife will indulge my passion for history and "slogging through battlefields," as she puts it, on one condition; that in return, I come up with a nice place to stay and some fine wine and dining. Chateau Lebessier, along with the superb hospitality of René and Marié-José, made me look awfully good. Verdun, the object of our visit, does... More

Many years ago, Rene, a school supervisor, bought a dilapidated chateau which he, along with his family, lovingly renovated. The result is a beautiful bed and breakfast which makes one feel as if they are staying in 19th century aristocratic splendor. But this is only part of the experience here. One of the major perks of staying here is consuming... More

We really enjoyed staying here with Renee's excellent hospitality and with the most delightful accommodation. Very worthwhile having dinner there as very tasty food provided. Would certainly return again. Well done Renee and family you have worked hard to provide a unique experience for your guests.
