We rolled into town late with no reservation and a dog.The friendly lady at the desk accomodated us. Beds were comfortable and clean, there was a cute gas burning stove, towels were soft and absorbent. There were the usual amenities. A little funky but manageable.

Our room was small, but we had all the amenities and it was clean. We did have a couple of issues with the cleaning staff, but they were handled promptly and very nicely by the lady in the front office. Craig and Cathy both make you feel very welcome and appreciated. We'll stay here when we return.

This place is under new management since sept 2011. They are doing too good of a job. It is as quaint as it is affordable. you should come check it out before they catch on and raise their prices. While Stone Lizard Lodging (Sunset Inn on the sign) doesn't look like much on the outside, the new owners (Craig and Cathy) are working tirelessly to fix the place up. As of December 2011 there is new management. They have started upgrading all of the rooms and currently adding wifi. It is definitely worth the money at this point. They haven't done the bathrooms yet but new paint furniture and flooring.

Bed, shower, toilet were all adequate and served their purposes well. Carpet was old and smelly. Room felt very well used. Overall, for the money, it worked out well for me as just a cheap place to crash for the night while transiting the area. I recommend it as such.

Dont stay here at all costs. This place is terrible. It is run down and not particularly clean. The plumbing is in bad shape and the toilet seat was chipped and worn. The front door to the room looked like a war zone. The beds were comfortable and the heater worked thank goodness.
