I just returned from four nights at Red Canyon Lodge in May 18th. A couple of observations; we stayed in Ponderosa Cabin “J” and unlike prior comments, it was very clean and not shop-worn. The Bathroom extremely clean, upholstery looked new and the carpet was as if new. It looks like they have been refurbishing the cabins, or at least... More

This was down as one of the top ten lodges in Utah and it simply isn't. It's a small lodge with cabins with great views. The Pondarosa units promised small kitchen facilities, but it would have been difficult to concoct much with two rings and no microwave or toaster. The coverings on the bed looked (and felt) as though they... More

I'll be the first to say I romanticized my first trip here - about ten years ago - remembering the wonderful pine-filled setting, the gorgeous lake and the stunning drive. Red Canyon Lodge comes highly recommended in Fodors (or Frommers). And for the area, it's still the best option. However - the clientele had declined in class, manner and increased... More

The people who work here, in the restaurant, reservations, and the gift shop are friendly, personable, helpful and very knowledgeable about the area. They can tell you what to see and how to get there - just ask. We stayed in one of the Aspen cabins (#21) and had a great view of the lake. The cabin was small but... More

We have stayed at Red Canyon Lodge every summer for many years. The lodge has a restaurant with good food. The cabins are simple but nice. The setting is fantastic with great views and a private lake for fishing and paddleboats. Flaming Gorge and the Green River offer world class fishing opportunities with the Green River being in the top... More

We just finished a week's stay at Red Canyon. The Pondersoa cabins are well equipped and clean, and the restaurant serves excellent, hearty food. Every night we would make s'mores at the campfire outside of our cabin. The wrangler Wayne is excellent with kids, and our 2 daughters did trail rides every day. Fly fishing the Green River is one... My family has been coming to RCL for 18 years now and we have had a great time each visit. This time we were a group of 10 adults and 6 children staying at RCL for 2 nights. We shared both sides of a Ponderosa cabin and some of us stayed in an Alpine cabin. If you want a beautiful... More

We spent three days in this area, and it was beautiful! We even enjoyed the drive from Salt Lake City (northerly route is best). Flaming Gorge is spectacular, take the walk along the rim (just a mile down the road from the lodge) for great views of the gorge and wildlife. We also enjoyed the hike from the dam along... More

A group of us stayed @ RCL for a fly fishing reunion adventure on the Green River. The drive from SLC is scenic - either from the southern Vernal direction or from the northern Wyoming side. We used this as a base camp and rented both sides of a cabin. Beds are comfortable - but don't count on the pull... More

Our cabin at Red Canyon Lodge was right on the lake for our three night stay. Such a peaceful location, we were greeted by a family of deer. Really comfy double room duplex cabin, with kitchenette, (minimal cooking utensils however) wood burning stove and traditional wood furniture. No Tv or radios so really relaxing. Serviced daily. Some noise from the... More
