OMG, words cannot express our revulsion when we saw the showers at the campground/RV park. A dilapidated trailer that had probably not been cleaned in 10 or 15 years. I am not exaggerating. There was a huge layer of mold growing in the single bathroom sink. The laminate floor had a thick layer of scum and mold coating the entire... More

We stayed in the cabins, not the hotel. And while I expected the cabins might be rustic (read: not immaculately clean) I did not expect the number of spiders that inhabited the place. It is frustrating to arrive late at night wanting to just get my kids to bed and have to kill 20 + spiders before I could shake... More

Clean, comfortable, quiet, charming, economical rooms., Great host (Bob). The real reason to come in addition to the Wild West atmosphere is the excellent steak house with great salads, beans, garlic bread. BY FAR, the best place to eat anywhere near Canyonlands.

The main thing Runnin' Iron Inn has going for it is its character and individuality. After spending too many nights on this trip in anonymous motel rooms, RII was a welcome change. We can only second other guests' comments about the cleanliness of the rooms, sleeping comfort, location, and graciousness of the owner, Bob. Though we cannot complain about the... More

We just returned from a 2500 mile expedition through the SW. We had our best meal of the whole trip at Bob Musselman's Line Camp Steakhouse. The steaks were excellent. Thank you "cook" as I did not find out your name. Given it was early March, we were the only ones in the diningroom that night. Bob and the staff... More

We stayed one night in the Madam Roz room and it's only since revisitng photos and websites to write all the reviews from our trip I see from the Runnin Iron website that the room was supposed to have 2 Queen beds. It didn't; just the one you can see in the various photos here on Tripadvisor. Our welcome was... More

I was first charged by Murdock Rental on my credit card before I got there. Have no idea about the name. Then the management there charged me again when I got there. When I called about the first charge, a guy called Jerry -- said it's for this hotel. Then they denied the second charge and asked me to show... More

I grew up in Monticello and brought the family back after 35 years to show them around. This hotel is great. Very quiet. Nice people. We arrived late Sunday afternoon. Bob was very accommodating. Rooms were spacious and clean. If you are looking for a place to stay that is outside the cookie cutter approach that most places take---this is... More

I stumbled on a review of the Runnin' Iron Inn on here before our trip and immediately decided that this somewhat offbeat place would be perfect after a long drive across southern Utah. We informed the owners of our expected arrival time and made dinner reservations. Proximity to the Needles District of Canyonlands was an added bonus. We arrived at... More
