My husband and I were married at the Black bear May 12 2012. So this past weekend we came back to celebrate our 1 year anniversary. This place for us is got to be one of the most romantic spots we have ever found. Its like that lost cottage somwhere. We stayed in room 13 with a King size bed... More

We were lucky to have found a wonderful deal on Living Social for $108 for 2 nights which included full breakfasts both mornings, a lovely bottle of pinot grigio chilling in our room upon arrival and a small plate of yummy Vermont chocolates! Jill and Brian, the owners, are so warm and friendly and an absolute pleasure to talk with.... More

I took my husband here for his 70 ith birthday. It is pet friendly, most important to us because we travel with our Schnauzers. Our room was very small, but nicely decorated. The room we were in did not have a coffeepot, but I guess some of them do. We had a private hot tub, which was nice. The price... More

My husband and I have been to Black Bear Inn several times over the past 10 years-we always love to come up here on the mountain. It is scenic and quiet and just all around beautiful. The Inn is quaint and very rustic which we love-the room we always try to stay in is lovely-with a hot tub right outside... More

If you love skiing and want easy access to the trails (nordic and alpine), but aren't into big ski resorts, this is the place for you. The Black Bear Inn is quiet, friendly, helpful, and comfortable. The breakfasts are delicious, the dinner we had in the inn was tasty and generous, and the fire stove helped us dry our wet... More

This was our second trip to the Black Bear Inn and it was just as good if not better than the first!!! Let me start by saying that the Inn's location and decor make it a great place!! The views of the mountain are breathtaking! We stayed in Room 13 this year and I loved it! The hot tub, fire... More

We are so glad our guests enjoyed their second winter visit with us! And thanks to this wonderful winter we are having, they were even able to enjoy a snowmobile tour nearby. Looking forward to hosting them next February! More

The inn is located near the ski resort and nestled in the woods. Convenient as you can ski to resort fom back of inn. The furniture, lighting, window treatments, carpeting all need an upgrade.... The lobby is filled with pieces that don't match and the dark green carpet thruout makes the place look dark and gloomy.... The room has no... More

While we cannot control our guests' tastes, we can certainly stay true to our property's essence of being a country inn. To some folks, that may be equivalent to being outdated, along with our ski lodge feel (lots of woodwork and the necessary dark carpeting for all those boots!). We are fortunate to be complimented daily, however, on our Inn's... More

What's not to like? Great hotel, great location, great people - and the best food I had eaten on a four week visit to North America. Up a mountain, with stunning views, I wished we had had the time to stay at this place longer, and I am planning to go back. The couple who run it are very friendly... More

We have stayed here some 5 maybe 6 times, and enjoyed each visit. The Inn Keepers - Brian & Jill are pleasant, helpful and always welcoming on our visits. As a travel writer I pay particular attention to online reviews and then verifying if appropriate or not. The Black Bear Inn is a rare find across New England as traditional country inn bed and breakfasts are not typically found adjacent to ski areas with ski-in/ski-out options. Ski area accommodations are increasingly becoming packed with condos and mountain home rentals.... More
