We arrived at North Beach Campground on a Friday in mid September, around dinnertime. We'd called around 2:00 pm that day, had NO problems getting a person to answer the phone, and no problems making a reservation. Funny thing, though: the lady who took my call seemed genuinely concerned that we could get to Burlington from Concord, VT before the... More

We generally camp here every year around Labor Day. This place is decent assuming you're fine with the long list of rules and speeding golf carts everywhere (at all hours!). Making a reservation will require 30 minutes or longer. Expect busy signals but keep trying. Once I got someone on the line, they took my reservation but messed up something... More

The North Beach campground is very good. The negative comment that someone posted about it being a 1.5 mile walk to the beach clearly demonstrates the exxageration this person was experiencing when he/she wrote it. The walk is minutes (like 3 - 4 minutes max IF you are crawling on your hands and knees) from any one of the campsites.... More

We just got back from there, did not see or experience any of the problems mentioned. staff seemed nice but a little stressed most likley becuase they are so busy all the time. It is a public campground run by the Burlington parks dept. (not privately owned, or state run.) so they have to follow the city rules, (campfires out... More

I hate giving only one star but this place really is terrible. I booked this place originally without consulting Tripadvisor (Doh!) and would have cancelled except for their very strict No Cancellation policy. There are no refunds under any circumstances. When I called to book the reservation, I should have known what I was getting myself into. The woman on... More

REALLY? I understand that no matter what campground, Vermont seems to enjoy charging for showers! Disappointing.....but when my husband and I were leaving, we drove over to Grand Isle State Park....the bath houses there are the same way....and don't plan on using your hair dryer....it will trip the circuits..... North Beach has a very nice beach area for swimming...and the... More

Camped with Dave, and agree - one of the worst. I am from VT and have camped a bunch. Staff is rude, bathrooms, particularly showers, are dirty (when I say dirty, I mean bugs....lots of them.) . They run the place like a military camp, and rely super heavily upon the threat of 'the police' to do their dirty work.... More

This was by far the worst camp ground I have ever stayed in. To start, I was told our site was the best in the grounds; site 134. It was located right next to the dumping yard and a unsitely wood fence was along 1/4 of the site. I have backpacked and camped in many places throughout the country. I... More

Me and my boyfriend stayed here Labor day weekend in a tent. Prior to going we had read reviews and were a little scared at the bathroom situation and what others had said about various things. The campground itself is a little cramped but right down a short path is a beautiful beach on Lake Champlain and the location, right... More

Do not arrive before 1 pm the check in time as they will not let you in early. Arrived at 11:45 am. Wife checked in at office and came back to car around 12. Said we had to leave until 1 and escort would take us out. Escort came and led us out but it took about 15 minutes because... More
