I stayed two nights in the Middlebury Inn for a work meeting and found it just fine -- cozy, homey, comfortable, with very pleasant and friendly staff. The quaintly tiled bathroom was a little chilly and the wall heater in the bedroom was quite loud, but aside from that, no complaints. Breakfast in the Inn's restaurant was just fine.
You certainly picked a nice time to visit Vermont. Normally the snow would be melting and the roads would be muddy (mud season), but instead, 80+ degrees and daffodils blooming. But we know that the weather is anything but normal lately. Thanks for the nice comments and the input on the air conditioner. We welcome feedback from a seasoned traveler...
