My wife and I stayed at the Middlebury Inn partly out of business, partly out of pleasure. As many reviewers have noted, the inn is absolutely beautiful, full of meandering passageways and interesting details around every corner (from the Robert Frost portrait at the check-in desk, to the framed historic photos and portraits lining the halls, to the manual elevator)....
