Not quite sure what the other reviewers saw as far as a 5-star bed & breakfast but although the proprietors were friendly and the place was clean, it was so overcrowded with decorations that there was really no place to sit and relax and be comfortable. We were the only guests so got quite individualized attention almost to a fault.... More

Dot and Julian did everything in their power to make our visit with them enjoyable. Will stay there again. Very interesting artifacts and antiques. Ghost of Elizabeth in the Liz room is an interesting story. Civil war bride who lost her soldier fiancé and died alone never marrying....

Dot and Julian were wonderful! The Jeb Stuart room was quite comfortable. Breakfast was fabulous and we will definitely be back. Hoping to try out the bike trails on our next visit. Thank you Dot and Julian for a wonderful weekend!

If you love antiques and old houses, this is the place for you. We have been there 6 times and can't wait to go again. I love looking at the antiques and birdwatching on the beautiful grounds. I absolutely loved this place! It was gorgeously set up and the service was perfect! I had so much fun and each room gives you the feeling your in a better homes catalogue,I personally loved the decor.this place is perfect for a girls get away!

Situated along the oldest Highway in the U.S., Edgewood's third floor was used during the Civil War as a lookout post for Confederate generals when they were camped at nearby Berkeley Plantation. The estate also includes the 1725 Benjamin Harris Grist Mill, which ground corn for both the Union and Confederate armies. On June 15, 1862, Confederate General J.E.B. Stuart stopped at Edgewood for coffee on his way to Richmond to warn General Robert E.
