Let me just say that although the title of my review is negative, I did not hate this place, in fact, it had some good qualities. Please excuse me if my thoughts are a little jumbled and this review is kind of long, but I want to make sure that I cover all the bases. My boyfriend and I stayed... More

I am glad that you liked many things about Hotel Spa Granada, and am truly sorry that you found our customer service lacking. We will use your comments to try to improve. We do try to train our staff to create a welcoming environment for our guests, and believe that most of our staff do succeed in that regard. We... More

We stayed at Granada Spa twice. Once just my wife and I and once with our son. The owner Mitch and his staff were great to deal with. We had a great room both times and the pool is to die for. Breakfast was very good and the info from the cacao museum was great. We will stay there every... More

We have stayed twice in this lovely hotel in Granada. Being a renovation of the private home of the first president of Nicaragua, this home is a showpiece for colonial architecture and charm. The rooms retain the original flavor of the colonial mansion with old doors, floor tile and ornate ceilings, but contain the modern conveniences as well. Comfortable beds,... More

As I said when I reviewed this place last June, I planned a return visit. I just got back from that 2-week visit, and had another fabulous time. Again, if you are a spa nut like me, I recommend the "per diem" room rate, which includes breakfast and a half-hour spa treatment every day. If you just want to lounge... More

When we first arrived, our standard room (69USD + tax) had a tiny bed, was humid, had a strong smell of wet mold and was facing a staff working place area. For a 2 nights stay, it was difficult to shake off this very bad first impression. We were told it was because it is "an old building". Either charge... More

I'm sorry you did not enjoy your stay more, and I respect your opinions. Our "economy" rooms are just that = economy rooms. For $69 (during high season!), guests receive a complimentary spa treatment and full buffet breakfast for two and use of our 60 foot pool. Purchased separately, those amenities would cost $29, so the net cost of an... More

My husband and I stayed at Hotel Spa Granada with our 10 month old son in April for 3 nights. The hotel is located 3 blocks away from the colonial city center, which is nice because its close enough to get to within 5 minutes without all the noise near the plaza square. Given that it was 95F during our... More

We started off our vacation to Nicaragua here. It is a former government building, ministy of Health i believe, that was bought by a private investor after the fall of the Sandonista govt, and heavily renovated (ok, i read the leaflet on property). The building and grounds are very artistic and well kept, the people are very nice, and the... More

You can't beat the location. It only a short walk from Park Central and lots of great outdoor restaurants. The hotel is a charming old colonial building. The rooms are big and clean. Breakfast is fabulous. I was there last year and was happy to see the same chef still there. Try everything. A spa treatment is included with the... More

we spent four days and three nights at the hotel. the actual building is a colonial mansion which is very lovely with spacious grounds, plazas and grand staircase. the hotel has a great pool and bar, an attraction for those far and near ,even non hotel guests who pay to use it. We had a lovely room, the deluxe suite,... More

I booked this hotel, despite mixed reviews, for the pool and spa. The price for the standard room was at the high end of the scale for Granada so I had high expectations. The room was a big disappointment - it was on the main floor in an adjoining building that felt and looked like the staff quarters. It was... More

I am sorry you did not enjoy your stay with us. Our objective is that all our guests have a wonderful experience, and, as you may see from the reviews, that seems to be the case for the vast majority. I understand that you left us to go to a much smaller hotel without a pool or spa, and that... More
