“Great place to stay to discover the Chianti region”

At the edge of Greve in Chianti, on top of a fairly steep hill, a quiet and pleasant family B&B. We stayed four nights early May 2010 in the apartment (no breakfast) that has a reasonably equipped kitchen, and also used (twice!) the wood-burning grill on the terrace. Montechiari is truly a lovely location. Set on a small hill with panoramic views from your terrace, it makes your stay quite enjoyable. The staff are only too willing to please and nothing is too much to ask. The rooms are clean and spacious and kitchenette with meals area is very accommodating. This B&B is a good base for visiting the Chianti region and sampling the local produce at the wine museum in Greve! Is in a quiet street a short (uphill) walk from the centre of town. We were directed to this little gem by the very personable young woman at the tourist info shop in the town square. She advised us that the Montechiari had free parking, was a short walk back to the town square, and that the rooms were very nice and not too expensive. She was totally correct.
