My wife and I stayed at this hotel during our stay in Loja while attending a friend’s wedding. First the pluses: Great location and beautiful area. The hotel is about 45 km from the Granada Airport in a rural area near RioFrio. A picturesque hotel that was pretty well kept and definitely unique. The hotel bar and restaurant was well... More

We stayed here for one night, was enough for us and obviously also for the staff that didn't seem to be very interested in serving their guests quick and adequately. The hotel is about 50mtr away from a railway, although not used a lot the occasional train is passing using it's horn. It is quite far from Loja so we... More

We have just returned to our home in Paris after two wonderful weeks at the Hotel Almazara, a beautiful four stars getaway on the hills outside Granada at Riofrio, Spain. The hotel is situated in a strategic location about fifty kilometers from Granada Airport and seventy from Malaga. With spectacular views of the surrounding hills it has all the amenities... More

My husband and I stayed at this hotel when we went out to see family who were renting a villa down the road. We stayed for two nights. The Almazara is situated about 5 mins from the motorway and is easy find. It's nestled on the side of the valley and the views are spectacular. It is a good place... More

The Almazara is perfectly OK - clean, comfortable (except the pillows), I just can't see why you would stay there. It's not in Loja, it's a drive away from anywhere. It's also not actually in the countryside - the highway is about 2 minutes away and you can hear the constant, if distant drone of the traffic as you attempt... More

Exceptionally friendly staff, very good food in the restaurant (including locally caught Sturgeon and Trout) and a good wine list make this a must-stop-at in the region. Only downsides are the very-clean rooms are just OK in terms of decor - trying to be luxury, but not quite making it. The bar a little stark. Breakfast the usual uninspiring Spanish... More
