It's converted from two townhouses. Almost 80% of the houses on that street have gone through the same change and now are hotels, including a Bestwestern.
The neighborhood is not so great. I would try not walking alone after dark. It is very close to a train station so travel in/out London is convenient, except that public transit is expensive...
