We were pleasantly surprised with this very comfortable accomodation. The cottage had a great terrasse with a view to a nice garden. Also the walks around the gardens are beautiful landscaped. It is very handy to their own great restaurant, mostly Thai food. One falls out of the cottage into the restaurant without moving the car. It is good for... More

Nice place to stay, comfortable units which are very well equipped and good beds. Lovely setting right in amongst the greenery. Well positioned, one way a short hop to the town centre, the other down to the inlet and stone house, both walkable with a buggy. Our little one enjoyed the gardens and feeding the friendly chickens. Ate from the... More

Ate at 'our' Food at Wharepuke last night. Decided to stay at the subtropical accomodation. Last day/night of our honeymoon. He actually proposed in the garden in Nov 2012, so Wharepuke is definately 'our place'. Anyway, fabulous food, as usual, havent stayed at the accomodation before but wanting to sample a glass of wine for a change with our meal... More

We had a fabulous two nights here, the cottage had everything we needed and the beds were very comfortable. Tania was very friendly and helpful, and we were visited by the famous chicken, as well as by plenty of local birdlife. The gardens were lovely to wander in; they inspired me to get stuck into my supposedly tropical-look garden at... More

We stayed at Wharepuke for 2 nights with our 3 children. The 1 bedroom units are compact, but we managed to use the foldout couch for the teenager, a squab bed for the 10 year old and the 5 year old shared the King size bed. Would be more ideal for a couple though. The units have a two burner... More

We are actually still here as I write this review as we can't leave! Its too glorious! I am on the deck surrounded by Kingfisher (very much an interloper on his patch!), Tuis, Fantails, spuggies (sparrows), gold finch, bird of paradise plants (keeping up the avian theme) and a chicken (yes, a chicken), looking out on to magnificent sub tropical... A beautiful place, comfortable accommodation, all cabins set in private gardens. Our helpful hosts invited us to help ourselves to the tropical fruit growing around us. Every night we had the benefit of an award-winning restaurant a short walk down a fairy-lit path. We loved it so much we extended our stay another 2 days. Highly recommended.

In July 2012 my wife and I stayed in the well appointed self-catering accommodation at Wharepuke for four weeks - one of the most restful and carefree holidays we have had. It was an ideal base for exploring Northland (the northern part of New Zealand's North Island) and only a few minutes away from the town of Kerikeri where there... More

Very private, comfortable and affordable accommodation... close to Kerikeri and easy to access all the treats the area has to offer. Friendly helpful owner/operator. If going to BOI, this is definitely the pick of the bunch for accommodation in my opinion. And you may even have a morning visitor waiting when you open your curtains (chicken) on your private deck.... More
