We spent our first anniversary there and we're so impressed we're going back for number 2. Very pleasant in every way, great service, great restaurant, great shops, great room. Very clean and comfy, nice balcony over looking the river, generous kichenette, excellent large bathroom with lovely vanity, picture perfect just like their webpage shows. Feels like we traveled far from... More

We visited Smithfield Station with a Groupon and are so glad we did. Thank goodness for Groupon as we would never have heard of Smithfield Station without it. Our room was great. The queen bed was extremely comfortable. The room was large with 2 nice chairs and a table. The bathroom was lovely with a nice, large, tiled shower. Everyone... More

We stayed at Smithfield Station in early May. It has a great location, convenient restaurant and a few shops. We were in the Lodge, all of the rooms face Pagan Creek and the attached marina. Unfortunately, the restaurant's kitchen exhaust fans provide the latest burger, steak or french fry aroma when you are out on the deck, which we were.... More

Thanks for the review Huckleberries! The placement of the exhaust fan is done purposefully to entice you to visit our restaurant! Only kidding, we actually didn't put balconies by the rooms closest to it for that very reason. Unless the wind is really blowing your way, you shouldn't be able to smell or hear them at all. I am glad... More

As snowbirds heading home we detoured off the interstate for a night at the Smithfield Station. What a treat! The room was one of the most comfortable we've had in a long time. The small private balcony allowed us to enjoy an evening drink overlooking the harbour and marina. A stroll through the wooded park across the street was a... More

I've stayed here many times while visiting family while growing up and even as I got older and went off on my own. It's a great location with friendly staff. They often have breakfast up and ready from what I remember. It's been a while, but I'm looking forward to showing my boyfriend around this quaint little town. The room... More

A wonderfully clean and fresh room with a great view. Only two complaints: (1) when we arrived and for our first night, the air conditioner sounded like a jet engine every time it "took off". We complained in the morning and by 3:00 pm we had a brand new air conditioner installed. Great service! (2). The shower was nice except... More

This is my wife’s and my favorite weekend getaway spot. The hotel is always clean and the staff is friendly. The rooms have nice views of the Pagan River and are decorated much nicer than one would find at a chain hotel. Downtown Smithfield is a short walk up the hill from the hotel and has several shops and cafes... More

We stayed here 2 nights in March after having bought a Groupon package. We stayed in the newer lodge section and had a beautiful and large room with a balcony overlooking the river and tiny marina. It was so peaceful waking up to the birds and seeing the water. Everything in the room seemed brand new, it was spotlessly clean... More

Stayed here for one night while visiting friends in Smithfield, a small historic Virginia town famous for hams and pork products.. The Inn is a hotel-marina complex on the Pagan River with a restaurant, bar and a few shops. We arrived and were greeted pleasantly and checkin was quick and efficient. We stayed in the original inn above the restaurant... More

Thanks for the review! The area you stayed in is under renovation and all of the rooms on the second floor should be as nice as our new rooms by this Friday (March 23, 2012). The bathrooms in these rooms are a bit small by today's standards and certainly smaller than the others, but when we were built 25 years... More
