My wife and I have visited Sugar Tree Inn for the past five years and each ime has been nothing short of an outstanding experience! If you are looking for a break from the hustle and bustle of the inner city, look no further. The innkeepers, Jeff and Becky, will treat you as part of their family. Nothing but the... More

We stayed 2 nights for Memorial week end 2012. The place is in the middle of Washington National Forest but close enough to transportation networks. It is 15 miles south of Shenandoah south entrance. We were in the Maury room: very cosi, nicely decorated and with a view of the forest: we really enjoyed the relaxing and cosi atmosphere of... More

The resort lies in a valley directly by the Blue Ridge Parkway, very convenient if you happen to visit Shenandoah or drive down the Parkway. The surroundings are beautiful, the view of the valley above the trees is indeed breathtaking. Our room (Rockbridge room in the Log House) was very cozy. The cleanliness was immaculate. The innkeepers are very friendly... More

We very much enjoyed having this couple stay with us and are glad they enjoyed our Inn and the surrounding area so much. I would like to note that while our driveway is a bit "curvy and tight", it is safe for any size vehicle. We have a hiking group staying with us now and they are coming and going... More

We have visited the Sugar Tree Inn at least yearly for the last eight years, and love it every time. Nestled in the middle of the mountains, it is remote, quiet, tranquil, and unpretentious. When we arrive, and take in the beauty of the woods and the simplicity of the Inn, we feel our spirit relax, and it stays that... More

My girlfriend (at the time) had booked a cabin here for her birthday. On Friday, we hiked up to the top of Crabtree Falls (about a 15 minute drive from the Inn), where I proposed. I hadn't planned on proposing until Saturday, but the view and seclusion of the spot was too good to pass up. The rest of the... More

We spent a very relaxing weekend at the Sugar Tree. We stayed in the Crabtree Falls in the main lodge. This is a spacious room, but also cozy. We enjoyed relaxing by the huge fireplace in the evenings. Jeff and Becky served delicious meals in the dining room and we enjoyed watching the deer while we ate. A great get... More

This was a very strange visit. The location is good, the views are pretty, and the cabin and rooms were cozy and comfortable. We had high hopes and really liked the place at first, but things quickly went downhill. At dinner the first night, I ordered a bottle of wine. I waited and waited for it, and had to ask... More

We always hate to hear that a guest was disappointed with their stay with us. It appears there were a few issues during her stay and for those, we offer our sincere apologies. As always, however, there are two sides to every story. We remember this guest’s visit well and she has most certainly embellished her side and therefore, we... More

We spent a relaxing and quiet weekend at the inn. My wife and I stayed in the Shenandoah suite in the Grey House, and we enjoyed it very much. The main lodge is beautiful and has a very nice common area with lots of books and movies to borrow. We had delicious breakfasts and also one dinner at the inn.... More

We stayed in a very nice cabin a short walk from the main lodge. The hot tub at the main lodge was relaxing. Breakfast was quite good, a buffet style. We used this place as a base for access to nearby hiking and a fun evening in Staunton. The location is rather remote, hidden down a rather steep drive. The... More

This was such a relaxing and enjoyable experience! Our first bed & breakfast experience was not very enjoyable HOWEVER Sugar Tree and the hospitality of Jeff and Becky have made us believers again!
