We had such a good time and absolutely loved our room, warm and cozy perfect for the two of us! Snuggled together and watched a great movie with wine and fruit snd of course popcorn!! Did go on the Whiskey train ride and it was so much fun but a little cold but surely enjoyed the awesome music! We also visited the littlest church, it’s absolutely beautiful ❤️

We have spent night at caboose 2 at Hobo Inn for our anniversary. Overall we had fun stay as this place is pretty unique. That being said, couple things to mention that were not ideal. First of all, I had to make reservation over the phone, as there is no online booking system. This led to them mispronounce my name on the reservation, which is whatever. The caboose itself is cute room inside of railroad car on the side of the road. Small bathroom, bed and tv with old dvd player and movies (and popcorn!). There is a dining room car and also a lounge. Unfortunately the lounge was closed (no idea why). The dining room is ok but food is very overpriced. We wanted to get pizza and sit outside the pizza train car but they only take cash (what century is this?). That was bit disappointing. We had fun stay, this is a cute place to explore and have some unusual hotel experience.

My daughter booked this hotel for us as she was planning our trip to hike Mount Rainier and it is a good location for that. She was so excited and it did not disappoint. Great ambiance and very comfortable beds. I was grateful that another traveler showed a picture of the toilet in a review I read so I was not shocked as it is too small and has to be sat on sideways. The shower was very small as well. When checking in, I was given a choice of how much of a tip to give and I was very surprised since I have not experienced giving hotel tips before I have even seen the room but I was in a hurry as all the restaurants in the area close early so I hit the 15% which ended up being $36 for a total of $278 bill for the night. The experience was charming and I would stay again. We ate at Wildberry Restaurant for dinner which was excellent. We had the momos and warm marionberry pie. Delicious! The owner is a Guiness world record holder for climing Mount Everest 15 times.

Stayed here for 6 nights in July while hiking in Rainier. Stayed in car 6 with the jet tub. Had a very pleasant stay! The bed was very comfortable and we appreciated the size of the space and the microwave and mini fridge. We got in late and the owner had left us 2 bags of popcorn to snack on since most of the town closes up early. Verizon service worked great, but no Wifi (which we didn't miss and they had DVDs if we wanted to watch a movie). Did not use the jet tub so can't comment on that. The shower didn't get super hot, but was warm enough. Had plenty of towels etc and halfway through the week they resupplied us with more. The owner was very responsive on text if we needed anything! Tried the pizza that is in the train car next door and it was very good! The distance from here to the park was great, we could get from here to Paradise visitors center in about an hour. Had a great week here and enjoyed all the hiking and great sleep after. Would definitely stay here again!

What little boy didn't love trains growing up? The idea of making this hotel out of a train was ingenious. The location is a good stopping way en route to Mount Rainier but there is not a whole lot left to do in this area. I highly recommend if you are a train enthusiast and have the money to stay here to do it for a night for the experience. However one night is all you need especially at these prices, so live it up and then move on never to be a repeal customer, at least that is how this traveler will interpret the current business model.

The Hobo inn is a fun hotel for the railroad enthusiast. The caboose was spacious and furnished nicely. The location is in close proximity to Mt Rainier National Park. There is no cable TV, though they have a DVD player and provide some DVDs. There is cell service so I streamed for the evening.

We just spent a couple of nights in a caboose. Sure, things were a bit 'old', but you are staying in a bit of history. I loved that they kept many of the original features of the caboose, and only upgraded what needed to be done to be a motel room. The place was clean. No cable TV or internet, but we found we didn't miss it. This is a place to get away from technology. Due to staffing shortages, the dining car (where you check in) was closed, but the owner was a text away. If I texted with anything, someone was there in a very short amount of time. The housekeeper was exceptional. I felt that whatever we needed, they were there. There were little extras (like popcorn in the microwave) that made us feel like an honored guest. The copula in the caboose was an absolute blast, I was up there a lot to hang out. And I'm 63 years old? Loved out stay, didn't want to leave. BTW: We took so long to make this trip because of covid, but we didn't need to worry. They are taking extra precautions (more than other hotels), and they even leave you face masks!

Stay in actual train cabooses. Tastefully remodeled on the inside. Very comfortable beds. Has microwave and mini fridge. Also a four cup coffee maker. We had the caboose with a Jacuzzi tub, so not sure how the others are laid out. Restaurant next door, but not open when we were there.I would go out of my way to stay here again.

A short overnight weekend Adventure! Staying in an old railroad car. It's been renovated quite well, very cozy, quaint, eclectic, and relaxing!! COV has hit them hard, I encourage anyone who has a bit of adventuresome spirit and wants to get away for a night or two to check it out. Also, it's only about 15 or 20 minutes from Mount Rainier National Park.

My hubby and I chose to book the King Suite with Jacuzzi (Caboose No. 6) as part of our Polar Express trip in December. One of the unique things we discovered about the Hobo Inn is everything is handled through the wait staff at the restaurant. This Inn has no "front desk" to contact after hours if you need help. Once the restaurant closes for the evening, you're on your own. Our King Suite was roomy, beautifully decorated and had plenty of heat. The bed was comfortable but it barely fit within the walls of the caboose so getting in and out of it was tricky. Amenities are limited with a small fridge, microwave, and coffee maker. No closet or wardrobe cabinet provided to hang your coat or clothing. No table or chairs provided for eating. No alarm clock, weather radio, internet, ROKU or cable type service. There is a small flat screen monitor with a DVD player. There were a few DVDs in a drawer but no family-friendly selections to watch. The bathroom and toilet stall do not have doors yet they were clean and well-supplied with towels. The shower stall is very small with no overhead light. The large, deep Jacuzzi tub looked inviting when we first arrived. However, the tub proved to be a huge disappointment and definitely NOT worth the extra price charged for this suite. Water pressure was weak. The faucet ran so slowly that it took an hour to fill up to the jets (about six inches of water) then, the how water ran out. Unfortunately, the restaurant was closed when we encountered these issues with the jacuzzi and hot water so no one was available to help us. We might consider staying at the Hobo Inn again in the future. If we do, we definitely will not book Caboose No. 6 again. It's not worth the money!
