We stayed at the Red Lion inn in Olympia, WA for 3 nights while driving the I-5 corridor looking at area universities. The hotel was average, but the staff were nice, and the breakfast buffet was hot and fresh. Breakfast was included in the "Evergreeen State College" rate, and decent.

The Red Lion has everything I need in a hotel...security, cleanliness, friendly employees, a BAR & restaurant...all at a reasonable price & in a beautiful, serene setting. It's a short walk to Capitol Lake, a great area for walking/jogging. The bar is fantastic with attentive but not intrusive staff & a really good happy hour. This was my 4th stay... More

This place is amazing. The hotel setting is so peaceful. Check in and out was without issues. The rooms were clean. The beds were perfect. The bar was great, even had a happy hour. The breakfast the next day cost $7.95 each, but was worth it. The food was good, and the coffee was hot. I would have loved to... More

We are dog owners. We take our dogs with us always. It has been difficult to find a hotel that was not in the highest price range. The Hilton properties all take dogs, as does the Weston in down town Seattle. These places are in the $250-$450 a night. It's great to find the Red Lion properties, as they are... More

When our secretary told me that my first 4 hotel choices in Olympia were booked, I grimaced and asked her to book me at the Red Lion. I stayed here 10 years ago, and it seemed much nicer back then. This hotel is dated and it shows. Doesn't every hotel offer you a mini-fridge and microwave, nowadays? Not so, the... More

Moved to this hotel after serval ights at the dumpy la Quinta across town. Red Lion is a short drive to lots of restaurants and bars. The hotel restaurant was nice. Efficient, polite service and decent food. I like the Red Lion rooms. The beds are comfortable; the rooms are large and well appointed.

“Great service. Very much appreciate being recognized as a frequent guest in that hotel, a Gold R & R Club member, having my special requests honored whenever possible, and being given a room upgrade when they aren't full and can do that! All those little things that make business travelers, who spend a great deal of time away from home... More

The Red Lion is not the easiest hotel to locate in the Olympia area. In fact, it can be a bit difficult to find if you are not familiar with the area or don;t have a GPS. However, the relative secultion of the hotel is one of its strong points. The property is beautiful with plenty of large trees and... More

Very dirty room. Looked as thought the only thing that was cleaned before our arrival was the beds were made. I didn't want my children to touch anything in the room in fear that they would get contaminated. We actually had left over food stuck to the wall it was absolutely discusting. The walls looked as thought they were in... More

I was very impressed with the friendly and helpful attitude of the employees at this hotel. Ardys at the front counter was able to help me find the hotel from the interstate, giving me very patient detailed instructions. Once I arrived, I was pleased to find that she was at the front counter. During my brief stay there, she answered... More
