The newly renovated Packwood Lodge sits just 4 miles from the entrance to Mt Rainier National Park and a short 20 minute drive to beautiful White Pass. Offering 21 tastefully appointed guest rooms, and featuring 9 new cozy cabins with full kitchens and luxurious jetted tubs for relaxing after your days activities. The Packwood Lodge is conveniently located to all the recreational opportunities that our area has to offer. Providing cable television, high speed internet, and electric car charging, along with other great amenities.
After staying at 2 other Frank properties booked Packwood. When arrived just before dark power was out as was the whole town, not Lodges’s fault. There was no place to eat because of power outage and we were starving so moved on to next town after being told we would be issued credit when power was restored. When credit card bill came in, no credit. When called told by nice hotel manager that owner of Frank Hotels which has several properties in Washington and Oregon would not allow credit to any of us and there were several. Other Frank properties we stayed in were clean but about what you would expect for the area. The Methow River Lodge another Frank property had no office personnel. Never answered phone, only register online. Key in envelope taped to office door. If something didn’t work like TV you are just screwed. So beware of any Frank properties.…

This is a very lovely Inn. We had a very comfortable stay at a very reasonable cost. We would highly recommend Packwood Lodge to anyone coming to the Mt Rainier area. We had a turret room in one of the towers with a King Bed and plenty of space. The little town doesn't have a lot of eating options, and we were there off-season. Be sure to check with Mt Rainier Park open and closed dates before you go. The Paradise Inn and Visior Centers were both closed. The Fall colors were amazing in the Park and on all of the highways.

I was supposed to stay for three nights, but on my last day, the electricity went off at 4pm. I was told that it happens often in Packwood and usually comes back in 2 hours. I waited the two hours and when it didn't come back on I decided to leave because I didn't want to sit in the dark with no lights or wifi service. When I called to get a refund the next day for the one night, I was told they would not issue one. This is terrible customer service and if the electricity goes out often, it isn't a good place to stay because the Packwood Lodge won't do the honorable thing.

This is a very good location for the National park, and convenient to the town of Packwood, where there are several good restaurant options. We had a first floor room, it was comfortable and clean. Staff was friendly and quite helpful. The cabins looked quite nice. We definitely recommend this spot.

Front desk staff had bad attitude, the room had strong strange smell, bed sheet cover had blood, stains all over the carpet, poor room conditions, irresponsible manager, etc. see pictures attached. Doubt why they have average reviews over 4.0?

Review is based on a room in the main lodge... We booked a 2night king room stay in April for a July 2023 stay. We received a king accessible room (did not need/book an accessible room). The room (#12) has NOT been updated like what is stated in the description/pictures on the website or in the very kind reviews found on TripAdvisor. We received only a couple of hours of sleep due to the really OLD uncomfortable mattress, thin bed linens, flat and disgusting pillows, extremely loud foot traffic outside/next room/upstairs room until 1AM or later, plastic cheap blinds that let light in from HWY 12 and the hotel electronic sign right outside our room, large gap in the outside door, and did I mention the horrible OLD mattress? After one night, we couldn't handle having to stay the second night. The lobby (as stated) is only open from 9AM-9PM We knew that breakfast was not provided and planned for it, however, there was no place to eat in our room unless we ate on the bed. We did use a picnic table, literally outside the lobby door, that is in the parking drive where cars stop to check it. We expected a chair or two in our king room (like pictured on the website). The only good things to mention about our experience was a fridge and microwave in our room, wifi, and ice available in the lobby as well as the physical location to Mt Rainier. We stayed here for two nights while exploring Mount Rainier National Park. The lodge is no better or worse than what you would expect. The room was clean and spacious. There was a microwave and nice fridge which was useful since there was no breakfast at the hotel. They could have put in some extra hooks in the bathroom. There was nothing to hang a hand towel on. There was a faint sewage smell in the bathroom which was off -putting. The rest was all good. We reached a couple hours before check in time but they gave us a room right away. We got room number 1 which is right by the busy road. That might be annoying to some people but it didn't bother us. It was nice to have a big open ground right out our front door. Five minute drive from the hotel, there are a bunch of restaurants and a couple grocery stores and gas stations. Drive to the Stevens canyon entrance of the park is 45 minutes. So, convenient stop if you have to stay outside the park.…

Went to go to Mt. Rainer and stayed at Packwood Lodge. Stayed in the main building on the second floor. The room was a good size and clean. Had a Refrigerator and microwave. Had a nice stay. Good location. Lots of hiking trail around and 5 Monte drive to town.

We stayed 2 nights while visiting Mt. Rainier. For the price we paid, our expectations were much higher as this place needs major upgrading! Flies on the ceiling, beds were bouncy, pillows were flat and hard, furniture was old, thin towels, cheap bath products, pilling on the linen. Hall light kept flickering on/off so we had to keep it off which made the room very dark. Foot traffic upstairs was very loud and disruptive. Dog fee is $25/night with breed and size restrictions (under 50lbs - no Pitbulls, Rottweilers, Dobermans, German Shepard). It was hard to swallow $50 after spending our trip at much nicer hotels with cheaper fees. The room smelled like wildfire smoke when outside was fresh and clean. When we brought this up to Grace at the front desk, we were met with attitude about how there is a wildfire in the area (as if we didn’t already know) and excuses rather than a solution besides offering us deodorizing spray to cover up the smell…(gross). No apology for the inconvenience, just a shoulder shrug as she told us they were fully booked and we couldn’t switch rooms. Her bad attitude set the tone for our stay. Grace should NOT be the face of the company at the front desk. Poor consumer empathy! The smell could have been avoided by simply keeping the window open in between guests. We opted to get extra blankets and sleep with the window open. I have serious asthma so the options were to wheeze or freeze all night. No amenities are within walking distance, must drive to town. Do yourself a favor and book early enough to stay elsewhere. Not a 3 star hotel.…

Pros: We stayed in the King suite. It was a decent size, decent beds, clean, lots of windows. Cons: Very weak wifi (had to stay in specific spots in the room), no cell coverage (had to drive 4 miles to Packwood to make phone calls), no land line in the room, no coffee maker in the room (have to walk down to the lobby to get your coffee). We had an issue with a clogged toilet at 10pm, no plunger in the room, and the front office/lobby closes at 9pm. There was an after hours emergency phone number on the check in form, but no one answered the call. Next morning, go to the office to let them know what happened and was told by the manager that they had changed the emergency phone number, but forgot to change it on the check in sheets. He also stated that he had tried to convince owners to have the lobby open later, because ' he wasn't going to get up out of bed to drive over to help anyone at 11:30 at night'. I requested a refund for the night's stay, but seriously doubt to see any refund. The staff just doesn't seem to care about their guests. They are charging way too much for their rooms for this type of guest care. If it were some dingy motel, I would expect it, but not when you pay as much as they are charging.…
