We spent one night in one of the Irma Hotels historic rooms: wow, it is like stepping back in time and expecting to see Wild Bill or Buffalo Bill walk through the corridors. We occupied room 27, which reminded me a lot of the hotel rooms of Swearinger in the HBO series: Deadwood. The room was extremely clean and despite... More

This place feels like an authentic piece of the wild west. Rooms were attractive, clean and functional and in keeping with the historical ambience. We really loved it. The huge dining room has an antique bar that was a gift to Buffalo Bill from Queen Victoria, and usually seems to be filled with Wyoming Cowboys and other locals. The staff... More

I stay at the Irma quite often. I'd say Wyoming people have a greater appreciation for the place compared to the average tourist who thinks this is still the 19th century. I like the food - big breakfasts, big steaks for a decent price. The problem with Wyoming, though, is smoking is still allowed most places. The bar is pretty... More

Sorry, I wanted to like this hotel but the room was dark, had no desk, one chair and an awful floral carpet which reminded me of my childhood. The bathroom, however, was lovely and everywhere was very clean. The lady on reception was very off-hand but the rest of the staff were very polite and friendly. We did not eat... More

So enjoyed this place! It is not just the furnishings and the old west feel that makes this a great place to stay, it is the characters that seem to populate the place. Everyone seems to have worked there for years, and they really add to the atmosphere. I was on a tour with Go Native America and it was... More

We stayed in the Irma and picked one of the historic rooms, the Colonel Cody room and we loved it. It was very clean and the furnishings were lovely. The fittings in the bathroom were brass and the toilet was pull chain. It was very quiet and the lady who checked us in was very nice. It was worth the... More

We choose a historic room and stayed in the Irma suite, beautiful room although no elevator. We had a view of the street out frount. Enjoyed the historic decor, except asked for a queen bed and in those rooms they are full. The bar in the restiraumt was beautiful and the breakfast buffet was nice. All the staff were helpful... We won't stay at the Irma again until management gets serious about the stench from the bar. You'll pay over a hundred dollars for a room that reeks of cigarette smoke, as does every square inch of this fine old structure. Peek in the doors, admire the old setting, but make your stay elsewhere.

The Irma in Cody Wyoming has been a Wyoming landmark for over a century. Under the guidance of owner John Darcy, it remains one of the better properties in the Northern Rocky Mountain region.
