When entering the driveway you get the impression you are in a junk yard.: an old BMW falling apart, a barking dog and lack of reception. The owner informed us that there is no locks on the outside doors which created a feeling of insecurity. She then left telling us she can be reached by cell phone. We blook our... More

deception 1: The parking is in front of a garage where piles of junk are all around, and an uncared for garden welcomes you to the house. Deception 2: The house is worn down with lots of paint pealing from the walls and without any lock whatsoever, the main foyer is not bad with old wood beams. Deception 3: The... More

Stayed here for the recent Merrie Monarch Festival. House is big, old, and a little on the dark side late at night. The bed and room was so homey that fell asleep immediately. Smells of belgian waffles or spinach and brocolli quiche greet you in the monring. What a great way to wake up. Sitting down to breakfast with the... More

Stayed here end of January 2012,and liked old historic house ambience and outside property. On a street where maybe two oceanside parks before the house, and two after it--all nice ones with tidepools etc,and on weekends lots of families and cookouts, etc. All i missed was breakfast with eggs and bacon, which I am addicted to.And the friendly house cat is great;previous review must... maureen is the queen of hospitality....i just loved her macadamian waffles and quiche...she lives within walking distance from a wonderful small local beach..her house is BIG and OLD and the beds are big and comfortable! because the house is old, the pilot light isn't always on, so an early morning shower was cold! she told me later that i could... In short: stay away. Details are below. Hostess: Maureen is very friendly and nice, though she is obsessed with horses and her cat. Maureen allows her cat to do basically everything: sleep on your bed, jump on you when you have breakfast, sit on your car… I do mind that, cat spoiled our suitcase. House: big and spooky, looks and... More

The previous viewer summed it up very well. The house could use a facelift and a good clean. The frogs are quite loud but ear plugs worked well and they did seem less loud the second night. There was only one other couple staying at the same time so the shared bathroom was not an issue but definitely I would... More

Maureen herself is lovely and personable, which makes writing a less-than-glowing review a little difficult for me. Mom told me if I don't have anything nice to say I shouldn't say anything at all. But I count on Trip Advisor reviews for both recommendations and cautionary tales, and if I'd known what I know now before booking at Maureen's, I... More

falling for the charm of the house itself seems not to be enough! Maureen herself is part of making this B&B stay so different and becomes such an experience. When i travel my skin tells me the feeling of the place, it's tighten up with the excitement since the first walking in. Aiming for 2 nights becomes the whole trip... More

Words can't describe how truly cool this place is. It's an amazing older home, designed by a well known architect in the 20's I believe. Maureen is a very sweet women, and I felt right at home the moment I entered this cool house. The price is extremely competetive. After reading some reviews about the place not being clean enough,...
