My uncle passed on & went to pay our last respect with my family from California. Used 3 rooms with 2 queen size beds in each room. Stayed at this place 5 nites. Security was great. Has a secured main door to all the buildings. This is not a 5-Star Hotel, however, my family was there to sleep at night... More

This was our second trip to beautiful Kauai. The hotel was decent the first time around so we tried it again this time and it was the same. Nice and affordable its not a resort but why go to a beautiful island and just enjoy the room? We went for the beach, hiking, zipline, tubing, local eating. There is SO... More

For being the oldest active hotel on the island, you can't beat it. It is my understanding that the new owners are going to be doing some renovations in the near future. Seeing the restaurant reopen would be outstanding. The movie Tropic Thunder was filmed in and around the area. One of the movie props hangs in the restaurant currently.

Its on the beach, its affordable and its on Kauai. If you are going to spend a lot of time out and about or on the beach in front of the hotel its a very good place, old but nice. Its a great place for the budget. They even have a few rooms with a little kitchen.

Yes, everything is old in the hotel but, they do keep it clean. We were not looking for fancy and were not disipointed. We never had to use the A.C. which most places dont have anyway because it's KAUAI ! not California. Temperature was great even when it rained. We left a bunch of change out and nobody touched it... At first, it seemed like this hotel wasn't going to be too bad. Unfortunately, it was. There are drunk constructions workers everywhere you look. I'm not picky AT ALL about the hotels I stay in, but I wouldn't return to this place. We were only in the room to sleep and shower, but still, that was too long. A/C didn't... More

Kauai Sands is a great option for those who don't want to break the bank. Everything on Kauai is expensive, and this place, at $60/night is a steal. It's a great option for those who want to be centrally located, and who don't care about spending their entire time at their hotel. The rooms are basic and very clean. The... More

This place is really not worth the pricetag. Yes, hotels are expensive on the island, but this dump is really not worth the 80$+ pricetag. When you compare this hotel with any other 3star in the U.S. where you pay 80$+ a night you realize how much of a rip off this place is for what you get. The only... More

I needed a room for one night only as I was preparing for a camping trip on the island. Great price ($69 before tax), clean room, beach to swim from, friendly staff. Myonly complaint was that I left a rechargeable flashlight plugged in to a wall socket when I left, and when I stopped by a few days later to... More

I will definitely stay again. I loved the friendly staff and the location. This hotel isn't for those that want room service or pampering. If you want a clean room and a pleasant place to wake up every morning, you have it here. My husband and I had a garden view room which was fine, but we discovered that one... More
