We booked our stay here for a few days before moving to Princeville to a timeshare. We looked for cheap and basic. We got more than we thought we would. Basic rooms, but very clean and awesome beach right there as well.

Every time I stay I have pleasant experiences. The staff and by staff I mean from desk to maid to maintanence ho out of their way to make you feel welcome. They are in the process of renovating but it is looking great and the friendly staff just make it so I want to return again and again.

Clean rooms, air conditioning, apt size refrigerator, TV with Cable and remote, pool right outside. It is right on the beach, handy walking path along the surf. Check-in is easy under the covered entrance. Easy access to main highway going through Kapa'a.

Basically this hotel is going thru a renovation. It is well priced for what you get. The pool and ocean location is excellent. The rooms need new flooring but are well cleaned daily. Two out of the three wings were being rebuilt. The lobby was awful. The beds were hard. There was only luke warm water in the shower. The swimming pool was tiny. The beach was littered with rocks and sticks. The waves were micro. The parking was hard to get out of.

Just returned from a 4 nite stay at the Kauai Sands. My 6 or 7th stay in last few years. The renovations are awsome. Everything is so clean.
