For being the oldest active hotel on the island, you can't beat it. It is my understanding that the new owners are going to be doing some renovations in the near future. Seeing the restaurant reopen would be outstanding. The movie Tropic Thunder was filmed in and around the area. One of the movie props hangs in the restaurant currently.

Its on the beach, its affordable and its on Kauai. If you are going to spend a lot of time out and about or on the beach in front of the hotel its a very good place, old but nice. Its a great place for the budget.They even have a few rooms with a little kitchen.

Yes, everything is old in the hotel but, they do keep it clean. We were not looking for fancy and were not disipointed.
