We've stayed at the Royal Kahana numerous times. Every stay has been a pleasant one. From the great accommodations to watching whales and turtles from your Lani. Be aware these condos are individually owned so some are nicer than others. We stayed in unit 1012 and were VERY pleased.. Highly recommend you checking it out for yourself.
After reading some of the more negative reviews I was concerned about our stay at the Royal Kahana. Luckily those fears were put to rest from the moment we checked in.

My husband and I stayed at this resort April 5-April 12, 2012. They gave us a free upgrade to the 12th floor and it was a fabulous view and accommodations were great. We watched the sea turtles from our room every day. Friendly staff. The pool was small and the beach was OK. Would definately stay here again.

This is a great place to stay in Maui. The room was clean and stocked with everything you would need. The staff was wonderful and very helpful. The best part about this is watching the turtles swim from your balcony.. The Maui Brewing company is in walking distance with a great happy hour and Dollies has the best Pizza I have seen in a very long time! It's a great town to stay in.

We stayed for two weeks in Maui at the Outriggger Royal Kahana and found the facilities bright, clean, and more than satisfactory. The location is right on the beach, close to a large variety of services, and very easy to find. Our trip advisor, Kay Ryan went above and beyond with her excellent personalized service and great dining recommendations.

We (2ad,2teens) had a one bedroom appartment partial ocean view -1205 if I remember well. Everything was perfect. We saw turtles and one seal from our balcony.
