I really hate to give bad reviews but unfortunately this time I have too. First, the person that checked us in was great. He answered all of our questions on Acadia, places to eat, etc. But it stops there. The room was awful. The beds were hard with very old linens. The bathroom was tiny, looked dirty, and except for... Stayed 1 nite knowing there would be no frills, but had the circuit breaker trip 3 times while drying my hair - front desk suggested I "stick my head out the window". Clearly outdated wiring - multiple rooms sharing circuits according to the desk. Couldn't reach a manager by phone, front desk person wouldn't even give his name. Not only... More

I had made reservations for the Colombus Day Holiday weekend about 3 weeks prior, I always print out my confirmation just incase I need to show the hotel, this time it wasn't needed. I got a call about 2 hours prior to check-in, my husband and I had just arrived in Bar Harbour. The hotel said that they had double... More

I gave this hotel 1 stars JUST because of the location and they take dogs. The carpet beyond gross. The rooms are very outdated and dirty. Even if you do not plan on spending much time in the room I would still recommend you go elsewhere.

We got the last 2 rooms in this motel for 1 night the first week of Sept 2011. Rooms were comfortable, no frills, few amenities. My husband asked for an iron and ironing board and was told by manager that they didn't have one. Bathroom was newly redone. Location was good..It was close to the downtown shopping areas and restaurants.

Wanted a place close to town for one night as i like to walk to shops and restaurants. I never book reservations and always travel this time of year. Bar Harbor was busier than I have encountered for the week and prices were not quite 'off season' yet. After checking some other places, decided to try Anchorage. Reasonable rate....no frills... I was EXTREMELY apprehensive about this motel because of the poor review on tripadvisor, however, it was one of the only hotels we could find with availability for our last minute trip. We were SO happy with the motel upon arrival. Steps from town, which was perfect! The room was clean especially the bathroom, which looked like it had been... More

It was too much money for the room. the room was clean but the bathroom small but clean. It offered coffee but taste like chickory-bad. It was not worth the money, It wasn't too far from town and an easy walk to the harbor. They had an ice machine but they didn't tell you about it. I would not stay there... More

We spent 3 days in Bar Harbor this July and found the Anchorage Motel to be convenient, reasonable, quiet and comfortable (not necessarily in that order). The motel is about a 4 block walk up the street from Main Street in Bar Harbor and we could easily walk to many restaurants, shops, galleries, etc. and it is located a short... More

My wife and I stayed here for three nights in late August, 2010. To say this motel is stark would be an understatement. We paid $10 a night for a mini refigerator and the room had no coffee maker or microwave. It was barely clean and office staff seemed like they just couldn't care. It's only plus is that it... More
