The Hotel was undergoing some maintenance when we visited (Aug 2012), overall the rooms were big and reasonably clean. Even if the place was sold-out we always managed to find a spot for our car in the parking lot, which is a plus during high season. The position is perfect right between one of Acadia NP entrance and Bar Harbor.

The good: Breakfast - excellent. Heater in room - great. Price - reasonable. Location - Ok if you have a car (which, of course, you do). Quiet. The not so good: Travelling with mother and grandmother, so I was stuck with the airbed provided by the hotel. Sadly the airbed had a slow leak, and I discovered this before bedtime.... More

Well, I had read the reviews and was extremely worried about staying here . . . but I am going to give my own opinion and not be influenced by what others say. Clean rooms, great front desk, and a nice basic motel. Decent free breakfast. Perfect place to use as a base to explore Acadia and Mt. Desert Island. Nothing fancy but a solid choice and the price can't be beat. I'd stay again.
