This was our first visit to Bar Harbor/Mt. Desert Island (May 19-21) and a friend had recommended the Balance Rock Inn, which is in town but a bit too pricey for me. I found Edgewater through the thoughtful reviews here. We stayed in Cottage #10 which was very spacious and clean. The view from our deck was priceless. We were... More

We stayed in Cottage #9, which had a full kitchen (no oven, but burners and microwave) well equipped (colander, dishes, even salt, pepper, and Joy.) Walls and ceiling are pine, a rustic feeling, but the bath is large and modern, with plenty of hot water. The bed was a huge king With a wonderful mattress, and there was a convertible... More

My husband and I spent a couple of nights at this motel the first weekend in May. The room we had, which was very spacious and very clean, had a king size bed, a recliner chair and a love seat which could be made into a single bed. We were on the second floor with a view of the ocean.... More

My husband and I stayed here in the off-season in April 2012 with our 3 kids in the Lodge Suite. The suite had everything you could need, fully stocked kitchen, everything with the comforts of home (I over-packed with supplies). It was great, what a view from the room, big picture window over looking the ocean. Very cozy with a... More

We stayed in Cottage #6. The cottage is not large or fancy, but we found it very cozy, with a nice little kitchenette (supplied with flatware, and pots, etc.) and a table. Just big enough to make a nice meal for 2. It was a cold rainy weekend, but the heat worked great, and the view of the water out... More

I stayed here October 8th-15th, 2011, in Cabin #6. This is a small cabin with a kitchen. It is most appropriate for one person. There are other larger cottages more suited for two persons. There are also more traditional motel type units. The Cottages/Motel is on a small inlet with nice views. Dave the owner is very accommodating and usually... More

LOVED our stay here! We had cottage #1, which has a massive stone fireplace and large sliding doors that open to a great little stone patio right on the water's edge. The cottage was fully stocked with cozy furniture and all the kitchen essentials. There was no oven, but a stovetop and microwave, as well as a full-size fridge, coffee... More

Came here for a few days with my girlfriend and we loved it! will definitely stay here again. Very quiet. Probably the quietest nights I have ever had, couldn't hear a sound except for nature. Wake up every morning looking over the water that is right outside your door is so relaxing. Perfect little cabins with nice little kitchens. Keep... More

Edgewater Motel & Cottages is a great place to stay when visiting Acadia National Park. You have easy access to the park and Bar Harbor isn't that far away. If you want a clean, basic cottage with a beautiful view of Salisbury Cove, this is a great find. It is not fancy but if you like clean with an old... More

This place is in a lovely spot off the main road and has spacious grounds and I think all the rooms and cottages overlook the sea. We were in 24 and couldn't be closer to the sea, I could lie in bed and look at it. Salisbury cove is very pretty, and quiet and the room we had was part... More
