We were in Bar Harbor for three nights and really wanted to stay at a B&B but booked this hotel instead. Great choice!! It has all of the amenities of a B&B except that Breakfast which is included is your choice from a menu and breakfast is available for 3.5 hours each morning versus the usual B&B 1 hour time... More

We arrived and were greeted with warm smiles, cookies and coffee! Our room had two queen beds, a couch and two chairs and a gas fireplace. There was a desk and tv, clock radio, iron and ironing board and hairdryer and robes!! There was an open area with two sinks and a very spacious vanity. The bathroom was also very... More

We had a fantastic time at Bar Harbor over the Memorial Day weekend. Bluenose made the stay special - we got a fourth floor Mizzentop room overlooking the Frenchman Bay. Check in was smooth and the handwritten card was a great personal touch from the manager. The room was huge, spotless and well furnished. We did not get to try... More

Planned a last minute weekend trip to Bar Harbor. Lucked into a stay at the Bluenose Inn. The place is immaculate with so many small nice touches that it's hard to describe them all. The room was very spacious with a small sitting area with a couch and two wing chais and a balcony with two chairs and an amazing... More

We spent Memorial Day weekend at the Bluenose Inn in Bar Harbor...the most wonderful experience in ages! We celebrated our 25th anniversary, a lovely greeting from the manager and champange! Pampering at the spa was elegant...Heather, the massage therapist is a gem. The salt water pools, both indoors and out, were relaxing after the hike. The room was absolutely beautiful,... More

I have stayed at some great hotels (Ritz Carlton, high end Disney properties just to name a few). This was the best stay I ever had. Our room was beautiful and clean. We had the king suite in the mizzenen. Our room with the fireplace was so cozy. Any hubby who wants to score extra points with the wife take... More

Thank you so much for your high praise of The Bluenose-what an honor to be compared to the Ritz and Disney properties! We work hard to make your stay successful and it's delightful to hear such positive comments from our guests. I'm so glad you could indulge yourselves with the luxury of an in-room breakfast and, I agree, our indoor... More

Definetely a four star property where attention is paid to detail, cleanliness and decor. Everything is well kept. The rate for our top floor suite included a voucher for a full breakfast in the Looking glass restaurant. The higher elevation of the hotel means great views. Traffic noise from the road below the hotel makes the balcony less than peaceful... More

We pride ourselves on striving to maintain high standards at The Bluenose and appreciate receiving feedback from our guests so we know when we succeed. May is a lovely time to visit, in addition to watching nature 'wake up' and the chance to enjoy the area before it gets busy, you have the added incentive of breakfast at The Looking... More

What to do between snow and sun --- well, I have the answer. Our "seasons" are usually crazy with projects, company, vacations so last weekend just decided to drive to Bar Harbor. We stayed at the Bluenose Inn. As I arranged the trip - I collected major spouse points. The service was excellant- check-in smooth as informative by "Love" from... More

Thank you for your excellent comments regarding your recent stay. Love, our front desk clerk, has indeed done an outstanding job for us and has received many positive comments from guests during her tenure. Regarding the handwritten note, we feel the need to abide by the high tech/high touch manner of doing business. As far as coming to visit in... More

Althought we only live an hour from the island we decided to treat ourselves to a weekend getaway. The Bluenose was a good choice. We biked from the hotel onto the nearby Carriage Trails returning at dusk for cocktails by the outdoor fire pit at the Looking Glass restaurant. The view was spectacular - we could look down to Bar... More
