Standard Motor Lodge - not luxurious but absolutely adequate and good value. Rooms were spacious and clean. Great location for The Castro and is on main tram line to bay area. You can walk to bars and restaurants in the Castro. Would resommend.

For $100+ bucks you get two double beds in motel style on Market a few blocks from Castro. Best value for your money. Go down the street to Holiday Inn and pay almost $200/night for same room. Room was clean etc. All seemed good till the guests upstairs walked and stomped on the paper thin ceiling. Shaking my room with every step. Also could hear muffled talking and TVs. And the 2am screaming drunks returning to the rooms.. would be a perfect room if your deaf...Bring ear plugs..

I chose this place because it was conveniently located near public transportation. Also, the price was reasonable (includes no parking fees applied!). We stayed at the third floor. Upon arrival the first thing I thought was that the place sure needs renovating - the elevator, bedspread/comforter, curtains, carpet, bed, and TV. Very convenient location, not suitable if you want to spend much time in your room, it's a bit grubby, but OK for the price...this place is all about location.
