Public spaces at this hotel are gorgeous. Rooms definitely have the old period charm, but could use an update. The hotel itself is conveniently located right between Union Square and the Embarcadero/Market. close to great shopping and restaurants. Altogether The Palace was a pleasant experience.

I have stayed at the Palace many times. It is a beautiful piece of history. The garden court is magnificent. What really makes this hotel though is the staff. When you first arrive, Paul, Jorge, Marlin, or any of the door men make you feel at home and like family. The Edgar and the other bellmen are speedy and courteous.... More
