I stayed here early May and although first slightly wary of the area and put off by the number of homeless people nearby, quickly got used to this and we were never bothered by the people other than being asked for change/food a couple of times. The location is great, five minute walk down to Union Square and from there,...

The upside: The room and the bathroom were clean. Convenient location in the city. Free wifi. The downside: Marginal hot water, most of the time it was only warm water. No temperature control in the room. Only one very small elevator which was usually full. Rooms on the streetside are very noisy at night.

I am very surprised to see so many people writing "clean" in the reviews. That was not my room.
I had a room on the 3rd floor, with musty, stained carpets, old paint and fixtures. It was not pleasant.
No heat in the room - I used the built-in hairdryer to warm up enough so I could fall asleep.

It's in Union Square, you can do pretty much anything by walk, and found it very clean.
We booked this hotel for a low price through Priceline and I thought it may be a situation of too good to be true. It was not.Check-in was simple with the staff member being pleasant and helpful. We settled into our first room and were pleased with it. Clean, nicely decorated and spacious for a hotel room in a major...

It is very well located nearby Union Square and near to a Public Parking. It was a really good option but it is expensive if you consider all offered services and the room quality. I had some acoustic problems with the room, almost all days we woke up very early with other rooms noise.
Overall I would recommend this hotel. The location is very convenient for Union Square and is walking distance from the shopping centres if you want to take advantage of them. From Union Square you can easily take a tram to other areas of the city if you wish. The area is definitely 'up and coming' however it felt reasonably safe...
