Renovations were well under way when we stayed at the hotel Adagio but apart from only one lift working which could hold you up a bit our stay was perfect. The staff were very helpful and let us view several rooms when the first one wasn't suitable. We were on the 11th floor and couldn't hear any noise - apart... More

I booked this hotel on a recommendation from a friend who has been to San Fran a lot. I had never been before so I booked this for our girls weekend after Napa. It was a nice location- very central. However, location wasn't as important to us. So we could have definitely stayed more out of the way and been... More

Thank you for sharing your experience with us. We are undergoing a $7million dollar renovation, scheduled for completion at the end of June. About half of our guest rooms are completed at this time and it sounds as if you were stayed in one of our rooms yet to be renovated. All of our bathrooms are completely redone with Italian... More

So bad it's laughable. We reserved months ago but talked to the hotel a few times after that including the day before. Nothing was said about renovation. On arrival we were surprised to find a tarp over what was probably the front door, construction noise you could hear on the street, a makeshift counter, no lobby, no restaurant, no bar... More

We deeply apologize for the experience you had with us. It appears you were here during the height of our demolition phases to the lobby. I know that this was not our most visually appealing time. We are in the final phases of our complete renovation and will be finished June 29th. I understand completely that things were not as... More

I bought my room on Hotwire for something like $99/night (normally $250/night). Impossible to beat that! The hotel itself was centrally located in the Union Square area. There are a number of grubs walking around the area but that's San Fransisco. The hotel is presently under-going a $7 million upgrade. It should be pretty cool when it's done. They upgraded... More

We appreciate you taking your time to share your story with us! Thank you for understanding the renovation impact and we are happy that you enjoyed your stay. We do recognize that the "sounds of the city" can be a bit much sometimes, but hopefully you were able to still enjoy the evenings. Thank you again for your review and... More

First of all we had a gift certificate valued at 500 plus for one night. This was to include breakfast, but they forgot to tell us we could only get room service. This was upon checking out. So we received no breakfast. Second they are under renovation, this happens to all hotel. All there literature said possible noise on all... More

Arriving straight off the plane from the UK we were welcomed to the Adagio by such loud drilling in reception that we couldn't hear a single word the receptionist was saying. Taken up to 3rd floor to a dark, dingy, damp smelling room. This was day 1 of our honeymoon. The noise from the renovation works was coming through our... More

We deeply apologize that your experience during the height of our renovation was dissapointing to you. We never like to have guests have a bad stay with us and experience less than what they expected. The photo of the rooftop patio is connected to our Penthouse Suite and the Catering space which is commonly used for these private events. People... More

After carefully reviewing dozens of San Francisco hotels, my boyfriend and I decided to stay at Hotel Adagio. We were really looking forward to it. We were also looking forward to the rooftop terrace the hotel has pictured on their website. Only after we checked in did the receptionist mention that there would be NO WATER from 10am to 3pm.... Your review of our hotel is very disappointing to all of us here at the hotel. We take these comments very seriously and hope to have the opportunity to have you with us again so that we can restore your confidence in us. The renovation is almost completely finished and the hotel is looking spectacular as of this date. We... More

Right now they are renovating the hotel, so although the rooms are large and this is to some degree a boutique hotel -( by which I mean they are trying but dressing up in suits at the front desk and a full mini bar doesn't make a boutique hotel! )- they are not offering any kind of discounts for the... The hotel is well located in the heart of san francisco, 100m from union square. everything is around: Subway, shops, rental bikes shop, shuttle to airport (BART), cable car, etc. For nightlife, discos and bar is around. The only thing is that the hotel was under rennovation when we arrived and we could not enjoy the loundge bar they have.... More

The area around the hotel is full of homeless people and although there are designer shops just down the road it's still not a nice place to be walking about. Otherwise, the location itself was handy for getting most places. The room itself was nice but we had a few issues. I'm allergic to feather bedding, which isn't an uncommon... More
