Great location near busses and trains. Easy to get there from the airport by train or bus (cheaper). Staff were extremely knowledgeable and helpful giving travel options (bus, train or trolley) including costs. Free computer use. Breakfast and kitchen OK. No TV in common room. Good security except no lockers. Excellent value.

The place is really cheap considering it's earshot to everything in downtown SFO. The street outside gets a little dodgy starting sundown, was walking towards the place and come across a man getting restrained by a couple of cops. There is no lift/elevator so not really great if bringing heavy stuff. The rooms and the place in general are a... More

The locaton is great. The most Tourist attractions, shopping center, cinema & cable car station are in walking distance. The staff and the people there were nice. But there's just 1 shower next to the kitchen (a small room behind the kitchen), just 1 toilet for every floor WITHOUT a lavabo (just Disinfecting gel)! In the room was a lavabo.... More

Location is good but a bus driver told me Ellis St. gets dangerous from Taylor St. to the west at night. People get mugged, raped, shot... as tourist you wouldn't imagine cause it's almost in front of the Hilton! Hostel smells bad, food sucks, bedrooms are dirty (including quilts which I really didn't like). People is nice and it's cheap.

Located on the edge of the Tenderloin and Financial district, this location is good if you are traveling with someone else or are okay with being bothered by crack dealing hobos. Luckily (in some ways) I'm used to dealing with crack heads and hobos so this didn't bother me at all, but was rather entertaining. Overall, decently located in downtown.... More

The WORST receptionnists EVER!!! No heater on the first floor....54°F (12°C)so i felt sick as many other people in the hostel! Receptionnists were incompetent and were thinking of leaving the heater that way for still a week...! I had to leave as they weren't even planning on giving any discounts to the hosts! Oh and...they were rude! NEVER EVER go... More

This is a good central location. You can get the BART straight from the airport to leave you just 5min walk away. Keep an eye out thought because you can easily walk by the entrance to Globetrotters. The staff are cool. Other people staying there were friendly. When they say free breakfast they mean you can use the following; peanut... More

This is a very simple hostel. (kind of) old, not very clean, beds and linen not so comfortable/clean. You have to carry your bag(s) upstairs to reach the rooms. The staff is OK. There was a free internet service in the front desk, but just one computer for everyone. I spent only one night in a room shared with 2... More

We had a great time at the Globetrotters. It is a hostel, it is not luxury but very adequate for a cheap stay. The rooms on the street side are a bit noisy, but you are in the middle of the city. We stayed three nights and had a great time. The crowd at that time was very sociable and... More
