I stayed at the King George Hotel in January 2013 for a little weekend get away for my birthday. You could not ask for a better location in San Francisco. It is close to the BART, great shopping, and amazing food. The hotel is older, and has a ton of charm. If you want the Marriott this is not the... More

The internet did not work throughout our entire 5 night stay. We had many problems with the automatic door key, which stopped working at random, and we were on the 9th floor with the world's slowest elevator. The rooms have poor ventilation and when you open the window (which is not safe for children who may fall out!) the outdoor... More

The King George is a small hotel near Union Square, at easy walking distance to lower Market St., Chinatown, etc. The rooms (at least the one I stayed in) are small, but sufficient, with a fairly high noise level from the exterior, not unexpected in such a busy part of town. The price of my stay was $125 a night,... More

Way over priced (almost $200 per night) for the quality of the hotel rooms. Walking down the hall felt like walking into a cheap boarding house. Door jams were off doors. Painted over exposed pipe (not the industrial look either). Although the room itself was nicely decorated, the physical room itself was very cheaply maintained. Plaster on walls was not... More

We recently had a girl's trip to San Francisco and stayed at the King George. It is a boutique hotel, very European, which means small rooms and small bathrooms. We loved it. We did have a few problems the first night. The elevator (the only one in the hotel) broke down and we had to walk up five flights. The... More

I booked this hotel because the price was so much more reasonable than many around it, so I went in with fair to low expectations. I was so pleasantly surprised! It was quite charming - older and very quaint & quirky. The rooms are small, but the bathroom and closet were both very large for a hotel (due to the... More

The King George hotel was a good low priced hotel. The room was clean and the location was excellent. I would recommend the hotel if you are not looking for much beyond a bed. It is an OLD hotel and has that charm. With that though comes problems and the elevator was on the blink for about an hour when... More

We stayed here (actually written from the Hotel's lobby) late April early May 2013 for 10 days. The hotel itself is rather dated but this is outweighed by its central location being very close to Union Square, arguably the heart of San Francisco. The room is clean and tidy though might be seen as rather compact for some people. For... More

Clean, friendly staff, boutique hotel in theatre district close to Union Square. Neighborhood sketchy -lots of homeless beggars made walking around an adventure but was fairly safe. I actually used the very clean alley to cut the corner to avoid 2 of the more aggressive panhandlers! The hotel desperately needs to replace the windows- the city is so noisy: truck... More
