Room is clean, bed is comfortable. For the location, I think it is good value for the price. If you wish to experience San Francisco away from all the touristy areas and live like a true San Franciscan, this hotel is an excellent choice. The plumbing is expected for the age of the hotel. But then again, most houses in... More

My husband had surgery at Mt. Zion (UCSF), and the Laurel Inn was recommended by a friend who had a similar situation. It is only 8 blocks from the hospital. The staff was wonderful ---- very helpful with directions and needed recommendations. Be sure and have dinner at Osteria, which is on the corner. The inn has coffee and pastries... More

Small old hotel. Some of the staff are friendly, others not. We booked months in advance and requested a quiet room. Instead, we were between the stairs and elevator. Would help the noise if they carpet the stairwell. Air flow in the room seems to come only from a vent in the bathroom. Room was clean. Bathroom old, but shower... More

Dear ORhiker, Thank you for taking the time to review the Laurel Inn. I am sorry that we failed to meet your expectations on this stay. We have several projects slated for this year, including a bathroom renovation this winter. We are also working with our staff on a better presentation for our optional philanthropy program. We believe it's important... More

I know San Francisco prices are very high, but for a little more I could have had a lot more in the Amenities department. The Bad- Price for what you get. Free Coffee was horrible. Breakfast pastries the only thing in the morning, no fruit! Swank Bar was closed early Sunday, had to make a hike to the bar down... More

My partner and I spent one night at the Laurel Inn. We loved the location--an easy walk to Fillmore shopping and to the Marina for dinner. We had a room with two queen beds and a kitchenette, which was very convenient. We also had a "city view" .. which seems to be on the quiet side of the hotel. Our... More

We'ge been going to the Laurel for approximately 30 years. It has morphed from an old fashioned motel to a boutique hotel. It's nice enough--our room was big and well kept up--but the breakfast was really chintzy for what we paid, which was virtually $300 a night including taxes. Basically this hotel has one thing going for it, its location... More

As the new General Manager, I am working on several projects with the team to help improve our product. Our biggest project this year is our bathroom renovation scheduled for this winter. I've stayed here multiple times to check on an Aunt who lives 4 blocks away but am positive that after she dies I'll still stay here because I love the location. I LOVE walking in Pacific Heights neighborhood. My favorite walking in San Fran. The houses are amazing, I'm sure "starting in the low 30 millions" and the views are... More

We stayed at the Laurel Inn just one night to see an NPR event at the Jewish Community Center a half block away. It was our first stay at the Laurel Inn. I booked online and got a special, seasonal rate. The only confusing thing was the special rate didn't appear when you clicked on their normal booking link, you... More

The location has parking. In an area convenient to Golden Gate Park, museums, hospitals and public transportation to get around. Coffee and breads in the morning, good views. Room was comfortable.

We enjoyed our stay at the Laurel Inn. The staff was very accommodating when we asked to check in early so we can get ready for a special dinner event in the city. We also enjoyed the afternoon cookies and coffee.
