We recently spent 5 nights at The Fairmont San Francisco. The hotel let us check in when we arrived at noon. The man at the front desk was very helpful he gave us names of 3 restaurants within walking distance. Our luggage was delivered to our room & away we went to the one of the recommended restaurants for lunch.... More

We went to the hotel and stayed in a beautiful suite with a breathtaking view of the bay! We had such a wonderful experience with the people there...Our room was ready when we arrived which was wonderful because we were looking forward to a quick lunch..... The Cento Coffee Shop is a relaxed place to go in the morning to... More

Dear Steve S., Thank you for your kind words about The Fairmont San Francisco. I am happy to hear you had a such a time time at the hotel. We are very fortunate to be located atop Nob Hill and afforded stunning views of the City and the Bay. As you mentioned, Caffe Cento is a great spot to grab... More

The lobby is beautiful, and the rooms have fantastic views of the city and the bay. Very comfortable beds, and marble baths. I would probably not return because of the location on the hill-- although we did spend a lovely part of an afternoon in a small park a block away. If renovated, maybe. Here are the negatives: When I... More

Dear Guest, Thank you for sharing your recent experience at the hotel. As you mentioned the lobby is quite beautiful and the rooms boast some of the best views in the City. I can certainly appreciate your comments in regards to the hills. They are quite steep, but without them we wouldn’t be afforded the stunning views. I apologize for... More

I am sitting in my room at the Fairmont and felt compelled to write a review as my wife and I are incredibly dissapointed by the service here. We have been travelling around California for the last three weeks and the Fairmont is our last stop before we go home. The Fairmont is a lovely looking hotel and the room... More

Dear Guest, Thank you for taking the time to comment on your recent experience at the hotel. I’m very troubled to hear of your situation. It sounds like there were a number of issues which could have been resolved easily with better customer service. We pride ourselves on our service, and clearly we failed in this instance. I sincerely apologize... More

There is something not quite right when the lobby is the best thing about a hotel. Still, it is an impressive lobby. Our room was a nice size and offered a great view-- except we couldn't see it because the windows were obscured with grime. Disappointing for a Fairmont.

It had a huge wardrobe with in-safe. Included in toletries gel, shampoo, conditioner, body milk and soap. Hairdryer and... More

My husband took me to the Fairmont for a birthday weekend earlier this year. We enjoyed the stay. We were in the Bombay suite which has a partial view of the bay and cityscape - the balcony was huge! The room was clean but nothing spectacular - it could benefit for a little "freshening up." It was nice to be... More

We spent the night at the Fairmont prior to our Alaskan cruise. It was amazing. The room was historic as well as the hotel. The service was topnotch. The view from the top was incredible. The service was excellent and the hotel quite grand, but the was a hint of mustiness about the whole place, and I noticed it when I entered my room. The quality of the furnishings was very good, but they seemed a bit worn. I would never think "new" or "fresh" to describe the hotel or my room. Unless you get... More

Located at the top of the hill, has great views of the bay, steps to chinatown and union square. Rooms are standard compared to other same quality hotels, ceilings are high, gives a comfy feeling. Closet is a walk-in one, and the lobby is very nice.
