Me and my friends spent two nights in this hotel. Do not expect Hilton however rooms are spacious. Bathroom was renovated so I cannot say a bad word about bathroom quality: good lighting, beautiful tiles, fresh towels. There is a hairdryer and toiletries. Room: bed is huge. There is only coffee maker (no tea maker)so bring your own cattle if... More

We stayed here on the way back from Yosemite as a cheap and cheerful choice with free parking before we left SF. We got a good rate online, and with the wifi and a basic breakfast thrown in it looked like a good deal. Our room was so dark, with no overhead light and 2 power sockets. The bed was... More

I met two girlfriends in San Francisco for a four-day stay and was not in charge of reservations this trip. A friend who has not been to SF previously booked the room and I can pretty much roll with most anything so wasn't too worried after reading a few reviews. The property is an older motor lodge on Lombard which... More

My husband and I stayed here after driving around San Francisco looking for a reasonably priced place to stay during our vacation. We spotted La Luna and decided it was worth checking out. The updates they have made to the building and the rooms are great. You can tell it's an older structure but they have made the inside look... More

What a great find! Asked for a quiet room when booking. $80 a night, with hotels.com and included a free light breakfast (ie: toast, juice and coffee - very basic). Checkin was great. Got given a map of the city and the rest of the touristy stuff, bus was a 3 minute walk and free wifi was a bonus. Plenty... More

Made my reservation direct with the hotel and not advised until check-in that elevator has been out of service since November 2011 until "further notice". No 1st or 2nd floor units available so had to haul luggage and carry-on to third floor. Limited parking on first come, first served basis so plan on being back early or good luck trying... More

We stayed here before so returned again, mainly as we knew we would be driving and they had free parking. However, we found that this time the room was fairly average, strong cleaning smells and the elevator wasn't working so we had to lug our suitcases up a couple of flights of stairs. Probably would consider somewhere elsewhere next time.

Man, what a weird place. It seems like a college kid inherited a run-down old motel from his grandfather and tried to fix it up by spending $500 at IKEA. The room looked like a dorm room - juvenile color scheme, odd desk chairs, torn carpeting, and nothing on the walls except two 8x10 ads for a coffee company, much... More

The hotel is clean and bright with off street parking. Very pleasant and welcoming staff at checking and everything was dealt with quickly. Large bedroom basically furnished but very comfotable. One small downside was that my room overlooked Lombard Street which is very busy from early in the morning till late at night so some traffic noise but didn't bother... More

If you're not looking for a lot of service and just a place to sleep and keep your things safe while you go out and see the city, then this is the place for you. No frills, but not too expensive either.
