We have just finished driving over 1500 miles through TN and KY, and this was our most favorite hotel. The hotel maintains the grand old flavor, the beds are fantastic, and the restaurant outstanding. The staff in all departments was the utmost of professionalism. This hotel was a nice place to visit. The restaurant had great food. In fact, I would go to the restaurant again. The rooms were very clean, but old. Just not my thing.

We have stayed at the General numerous times. Each visit including the most recent was relaxing. The staff is always helpful. Brumley's is a nice quiet place to eat. We always get rooms with king beds. Plenty of pillows and linens. Some rooms have refrig. some don't.
