Our family spent three nights at the Black Walnut Bed and Breakfast and had a great stay. Since both innkeepers have both been professional bakers, the food was amazing. Fortunately they are an easy walk to downtown so you can burn off some of the calories from breakfast. Lori went out of her way to accomodate a gluten free diet... More

The Black Walnut Inn in Asheville ranks high on my list of must-come-back places to stay! Owners Lori and Pete have attended to every detail in decor -- period furnishings, fresh colors (our room was chocolate brown), and unique food! Nice wines and hors d'oeuvres (think watermelon, cream cheese, walnuts, and candied rosemary!) for the afternoon tea. And a sumptious... More

The exterior of the home and the grounds are absolutely gorgeous! The home is 112 yrs. old, so there are some things about the accommodations that are not ideal (doors that stick, very uneven floors, bathroom sink with separate faucet for hot and cold water). I think if we had known to expect some of these things, we wouldn’t have... More

We enjoyed at this lovely historic Inn. It is well maintained with beautifully decorated rooms. It is within walking distance to the vibrant downtown. Service is impeccable with a nice selection of wines and imaginative homemade appetizers and desserts provided daily. Owners, Lori and Peter were wonderful hosts with very helpful recommendations for restaurants and activities. They paid particular attention... More

This is our 4th stay at this wonderful Inn and it never loses it's special appeal. From the beautifully furnished room to the incredible breakfasts, this Inn and it's Keepers are one of a kind. We also love that they welcome our dog with treats and affection. It's a given that we will continue to go back.

I stayed at the Black Walnut for 2 nights. It was so beautiful and relaxing. I can't say enough about how wonderful the food is! Lori and Peter were amazingly helpful and made sure I enjoyed every moment. The house is perfectly maintained. I will no doubt be staying there again in the future.

Lovely old inn with great breakfasts. Peter and Lori were very helpful with everything from restaurants to the Biltmore. The afternoon wine and snacks were great. The inn is perfectly maintained and very detail is checked. We had 5 nights there and it was a great base from which to explore the Asheville area. It is bit of a walk... More

We have stayed at many B&B's over the years from Virginia to Maine and we would rate the Black Walnut at the top in every way. Peter and Lori are concerned about every detail of the Inn itself - the gardens, the cleanliness, the upkeep, the condition of the rooms. On our two day stay we missed one of the... More

My wife and I wanted to visit the Biltmore estate and tour the Blue Ridge from a comfortable base of operations. As it turned out, the highlight of our trip was our two night stay at the Black Walnut. We have stayed at several B&Bs and I can emphatically state this little gem was the best. Owners Peter and Lori... More

My husband and I were looking for a relaxing visit to Asheville, and was it ever! We stayed for 3 nights over the Easter weekend and were so pleased with all of the accommodations! We stayed in the Ivy Garden and immensely enjoyed the huge Jacuzzi, fireplace, and King size bed waiting for us! These things were pictured and expected,... More
