This is my third year staying at this hotel because it is the headquarters for the USTA (tennis) state championship. It is convenient for attending the associated functions and the on-site tennis courts; the just-off-the-highway location makes downtown and other tennis courts easily accessible. The hotel seems a little older with an odd layout (a lot of walking depending on where your room is.) There are different buildings built at different elevations, with a short set of stairs connecting the interiors. A very basic older hotel. You see the age on the building in the small things like... poor quality bathroom repairs, worn carpet, draps past their prime, hard to open windows, etc. Asheville, in general, is a somewhat expensive town and the Crowne is no exception.
