Recently attended a meeting and stayed for the weekend with my wife. The grounds and services were wonderful. Plenty of space to explore without a crowded feeling. Our room was specious and opened to the adult pool near the spa. During the day, my wife was at the spa and left exceptionally pleased. Her treatments were costly, but worth the... More

We fled to The Grand Del Mar after staying at the Hilton Resort and Spa for one horrendous night. Ahhhhhh. SO much better! Everything at The Grand is perfect, from the lovely Italian bed linens, the large bathroom with an incredibly deep soaking tub, the exceptional room service and lovely restaurants to the amazingly friendly, extremely accommodating and wonderful staff.... I had to stay in the area for an unexpected business trip. I selected The Grand based on recommendations of others. I was not disappointed. We arrived Friday around midnight, and ordered room service. The meals were delivered in about 20 minutes, and the food was excellent. On Saturday, we had lunch by the pool, again the service and food... More

From looking on the map one would think that the hotel's location is in error. Way east of the ocean, this is not a sea-side resort by any means. The winding road that leads up to the hotel is magically lit up at night and evokes a feeling of fantasy. The property itself is wonderfully appointed with lare receiving rooms,... More

Extremely opulent. At first, I couldn't decide if I thought it was garish or nice, but after several days, I felt it was very nice, not only in general appearance but in all the niceties. Grounds were beautifully maintained. Staff was extraordinary and seemed very cordial and well trained. Service people made a effort to use the guest's name, greet... More

My family went to San Diego this past summer to play both Torrey Pines Golf Courses. We decided to stay at the Grand Del Mar because of the reviews on here and it didn't disappoint. We had a suite that was just incredible, plenty of room for 4 people and 2 bathrooms, which made it easy to get ready and... More

We were so excited to learn we were returning to this lovely hotel for a business retreat. The first time in 2010 was almost magical. GDM did not disappoint the second time around. There are so many exceptional things about this property including its beautiful old world architecture and truly amazing service. One poster called the service "Nordstrom-like" and I... More

We decided to splurge at this property and get a suite. It was sweet alright! Two FULL bathrooms that were to die for! Almost a tad Vegas-y...looks like Teresa Guiduice could have been on the decorating team. LOL Very Italian villa like...but a nice contrast to most other hotels. The place exudes class. The attention to detail is amazing. Best... More

This hotel is grand, substantial and quite beautiful! This is the best hotel I have ever stayed at in California and I constantly rave about it! The spa, the rooms, the pool area are perfect. It feels as if you are a guest at a grand estate in Santa Barbara, a palatial estate. The rolling hills and facade of the... More

Luxury, luxury! Top notch accomodations, grounds, staff and restaurant. The attention to detail in all aspects makes this one of the best places we've stayed at. If it is not already designated as a modern castle - it should be! They just don't make them like this anymore. For enthusiasts of stone masonry - you'll appreciate the detail and materials... More
