This property is an excellent location for any San Diego based activities. It is one block from the San Diego Bay and one block to get onto Hwy 5- we had to be in San Diego for oncology appointments at Balboa Naval Hospital and found this location and price to be very convenient and affordable. The property is well maintained,... More

This is not the kind of hotel I would normally consider, but there was a convention in town in December and we needed a hotel close to the cruise port. However, this place worked FINE for us. Yes, there was some noise from the trains going by, but I just closed the window, turned on the air conditioner, and didn't... More

Homeless people hanging out on the outdoor patio watching us get our crappy continental breakfast in the office. Homeless dude walking around the property going through the outdoor garbage cans. At least they greeted us with a "good morning" when we ran into them. The customer service was less then personable, should take some lessons from the homeless. COCKROACHES in... More

Stayed there for one night. Great location, walking distance from Gaslamp Quarter, Little Italy, USS Midway museum and Maritime Museum, amongst others. Breakfast spread is surprising large, and good. Room was a bit noisy during the day and in the evening, because of the railroad tracks right beside the hotel, but the trains stopped running by bedtime. All in all,... More

I want to say thank you to Sherri, John, Chintan,Pete for your warm hospitality and very competent and helpful service! I enjoyed meeting and getting to know you a little and I wish you well! The room was clean and comfortable, and the continetal breakfast was better than expected, but the hotel staff was why we will stay here again. They went out of their way to make our trip exceptional. Jennifer was very nice and accomodating for our early morning departure.

The rooms are cleaned every day and the cleaning people work hard and do a good job. If you do encounter a problem with anything in the room the staff has it attended to right away. In the future, maybe there could be a computer kiosk in the main loby so that people that do not bring their laptops with... More

Stopped for 2 nights as part of my 16 night road trip, location was very good regarding access for San Diego attractions, 5 mins walk to tram station, we were worried a little about the train noise but did not affect us too much as we were right next to reception, but did hear some door noise from there on... We stayed here for two nights as part of a road-trip. The hotel is excellently located, just a block from the bay and close to the main attractions, and within a 10-minute walk to the lively Gaslamp district or Little Italy - where there are plenty of restaurants and bars. It's also only a 10-minute drive to the zoo or... More
