Rooms were nicely decorated, staff were friendly and helpful, easy drive to the old town, Fashion Valley and beach front.
We loved our stay at the Rodeway, it was little chalet like rooms where we were able to park our car outside. Only a 10 minute walk from the centre of San Diego and the nightlife and restaurants which were in abundance, and 15 minutes away from the train which takes you over the Mexican border into Tiajuana. The room...

I also assumed that anything in Rancho Bernardo would be fine. This place is the Pits. The "no pool" is waiting for a $25K rebuild. I don't think it will happen. There were only 3 vehicles that night. We were one. The window screen had been bent from a attempt to open it from the outside. There was a fan...

As a local resident, I assumed that any hotel in Rancho Bernardo would at least be decent. WOW - I couldn't have been more wrong! Filthy grounds and rooms, broken/inoperative fixtures, MOLD in the bathroom. And please, PLEASE, don't try any of the "continental breakfast" items (OJ was dispensed as mostly water, with a little mix squirted in at the...

Formerly the Rancho Bernardo Travelodge, this motel reminded me of my cash-strapped college days when I stayed in those no-name $14.95/night motels along the interstates when travelling cross country. Peeling paint, mold, stained sink/tub, bent and dented lampshades, etc. Clearly an attempt to clean the room had been made (the very strong smell of cleaning products and mop strands on...

We were looking for a cheap rate in San Diego area and Rodeway Inn came up the winner. However, upon arriving in the parking lot we begin to have second thoughts. The motel looks like one of those cheap mom-and-pop outfits from the outside. The landscaping looks like it hasn't been tended to for quiet some while.
Inside, the rooms...

I stayed at this hotel for three weeks for work. We work nights so our crew didn't arrive until around midnight and when we used the night window the man was very rude. The first room was nice enough with high wood cielings. But the next morning we discovered there was no hot water in the entire hotel and there...

This is located in a very quiet place, and is quite easy to get to from the freeway. It needed better cleaning, but was clean enough where it counted. The carpet was new, and everything we needed was there, including wireless connection to the internet. For the price, I think it was the best we could find. 2 months before...

Let me preface this by saying that we weren't expecting a 4-star resort. We were in the market for a budget-friendly family motel, nothing fancy, no frills. However, we did expect our room to be clean and habitable.
At first glance, our room appeared neat, though it was obviously not a luxury suite. Then we noticed that the ceiling above...

The price ($69) was the about best we could find in the San Diego area on the last weekend of July. However the cleaning left a lot to be desired, there was mold on the ceiling and the bed was very, very uncomfortable!
