The staff at the Beekman, from concierge, front desk staff, restaurant staff and anyone else that we encountered, were outstanding!! All friendly, more than willing to help and truly felt like a 5 star service type of establishment. Our room was on the 13th floor and had a pretty good view of the upper east side, the queensboro bridge and... More

I won't repeat what many others have already said: position is very good, rooms are average / tired. But unlike the others, I didn't experience 'clean rooms': there was a cigarette filter on the a/c unit, left there for don't know how long. Also, when i switched on the heating, a terrible noise came out, so i had a first... More

Thank you for your comments and the time to post your thoughts. I am embarrassed by your experience and, as you noted, your findings regarding our housekeeping ability is contrary to most other reviewers. I certainly would like to think this an anomaly but we are addressing your concern with our staff and inspectors – this will not reoccur, I... More

I'd been working in NY (over at Punchdrunk theatres amazing Sleep No More - go see if you can get a ticket) and my wife flew over for a belated 25th wedding anniversary long weekend tagged onto work. I joined her for 5 nights in a studio room on the 12th floor. We both thought it was great. I travel... More

I stayed here on business for one night. I was given a suite which was unnecessary as I didnt need a lounge area, dining table or kitchen. Although the coffee was good, I didnt need the hassle of a coffee maker, mug and feeling obliged to wash-up! Hotel itself was clean and tidy, but in need of a make-over. It... More

Steve: Always good to receive feedback from a prolific reviewer on TripAdvisor – we recognize the experience you bring to your viewpoint. Thank you for the time and commentary on your recent stay at the Beekman. It is true that we are far the new kid on the block but have just completed our exterior work on our historic hotel,... More

I stayed at the Beekman one night on May 2012. A bit old but kept clean. Good service. The rooms are rather big. Small kitchen is an asset if you need that kind of facility (I didn't). The beds/mattresses are in need for replacement/upgrade (and so is the couch). Nice location if you like a midtown east stay as I... More

It's a three star, not a four or five star. By that standard, it's very good. It's clean, which is a bit of an achievement with an older facility. The rooms had kitchenettes. While itself not particularly useful to the business traveler, it meant that it had a coffee maker with plenty of real (not paper) cups. It had an... More

When I visit New York I usually st at The Millennium, but I was in the city for a business meeting near the UN and decided to select a hotel closer to that location. I found the Beekman online, and decided to give it a try. Pros: Room was very clean, in room coffee machine w good quality coffee, nice quality... More

Don't even THINK of using a GPS to get to this place-mine told me to MAKE A U-TURN ON A NEW YORK CITY STREET!!!!! The tiny road is near the UN - a one-way goat path where angry taxis blast their horns if you have to wait to pull over to the curb at the entrance. Got a really good... More

Well, I must say that a “goat path” in the heart of NYC would be noteworthy but I do appreciate the humor. True, Mitchell Place runs parallel to 49th Street, which if you were driving up 1st Avenue requires that you to drive to 50th making a right then another right onto Beekman Place to reach the hotel’s entrance .... Same story as with the "kate t" review. I was upgraded to a 1 bedroom suite which is what I booked online. It cost me another $64/night. Not feeling well about that, I had to kill a 2" cockroach crawling on the wall. The front desk pretended to care and said they would have the manager call. I'm still waitng... More

I understand the concern at the heart of your comments. As discussed at the time of your check in, your reservation confirmation was not though the hotel’s website but one that would appear to be the official site. The reservation we received stipulated a Studio unit, not a one-bedroom. At the time, the one-bedroom suites were selling for $150 higher... More

The hotel is nicely located, 5 block from the subway, and 7 from 5th av. Yes, the furnitures are old, and it will be nice if some more cutlery was added to the kitchen. Up to know it wasn't so bad....but there is really a bugbed infestation!!! I stay ay the 24 A (second tower), pls, check the matress (avoid... More

There appears to be an error here. The hotel's "second tower" or East Tower rises to only 10 floors and does not have a 24 A. Within the Main Tower, 24 A is a meeting room, with no sleeping accommodations whatsoever and has never been assigned to an overnight guest. I recognize that this is not your first review and...
