The Marrakech is a fine 2 star hotel, masquerading as a 3 star. with a 4 star rack rate. If you can get a 35-45% discount from the rack rate, it is fully adequate. Rooms are renovated New York chic, and the staff is helpful and friendly, The location is at the southwest corner of Broadway and 103'rd St., a... More

Stayed here for 7 nights in April - May. There are a lot of stairs, but there are people to help you with your cases. Room was pretty basic, bathroom was very small, and shower was either freezing or boiling hot. The only thing that makes this a hotel over a hostel is that you get your beds changed/ made... More

Myself and my partner stayed at this Hotel for a week in April! The location is really good, its a couple of mins walk from the Subway station and on a direct line to Times square-takes about 20 mins! The area the Hotel is in has a lot of restaurants! I recommend the Metro Diner that is a 5 min walk... More

This hotel bears no resemblance to the property depicted on the web site. Start by walking up two flights of very narrow dark stairs (there is no ground floor lobby) Check in at a very cramped, dark desk area and then discover there are no elevators in the hotel. Carry your bags up more flights of narrow dark stairs to... More

So it is all true, There were 73 steps from the street level to our room. The room temperature went from ice cold to hot as the radiator pipes clanged and hissed. Our windows opened up to a brick wall and our room was the size of a shoebox. There was confusion at check in and they had lost our... More

We were here for 5 nights and it was just fine. Good location, tube on the door step, Starbucks next door, 5 minutes walk to Central Park, perfect. I was quite worried about the bed mites after reading some of the reviews but fortunately we did not have this problem! The rooms were clean and nicely decorated, bathroom in our... More

After a long journey from England to Newyork we were distraught and tired when shown to our room at The Marrakech. The room was dark with the tiniest of windows looking out onto the aircon. chimney thing!! We did get help to carry our cases up to the 4th floor as there is no lift. Having said all that the... I booked via Hotwire and was quite concerned after reading all the negative feedback on Tripadvisor. Sadly, I found out a lot of it is correct. The good: The service. The staff was friendly, helpful and welcoming. It was freezing in our room, but we immediately got offered a space heater and some extra blankets. We changed rooms as the... More

My partner and I stayed here at the end of April, it's a budget hotel for a good price for NYC, we stayed 6 nights for around $850. This was our first stop after a long haul flight from Australia, we found it difficult without an elevator on the first day but after some help from the staff we were... More

I travel a lot but do not often take the time to write a review, or for that matter read others before I book the room. In this case the rooms are exactly what was described by Giraaroundarol which I should have read first before booking. The hotel is beat up and having to carry bags up and down four... More
