Please note that the person who says they can see Carnegie Hall from their window must be reviewing the wrong hotel. You cannot see it from Central Park NORTH. You might be able to see it from a hotel on Central Park SOUTH - which is probably what they mean and would be an entirely different hotel all together.

Don't worry about people hanging out outside, the area is very busy and very safe - right next to a bust subway stop.
