YMCA would be the place...the hostel is extremely simple but at least they have beds and baths! And 24hours security, I would never recommend for anyone older than 25, can be humiliating.

then it's OK. 60 USD per night for a single room. A bit expensive if compared to the European equivalent (and does not include breakfast of course). The showers were not exactly in proper running condition, but again, good enough for a tired traveler.

The staff is very bad and not helpful. I have booked by phone and when arrived I didn't have a room. So they put me in another one. I've stayed here for 15 min!! The hole places stinks, is dirty, the bathrooms are very dirty! Harlem is a bad place to stay: dangerous and far away from the centre.
