The hotel rooms need a good review . Looking tired and need a good clean , used Westin many times but disappointed on this visit . Room was big but needed a good clean and some attention. Breakfast poor with little selection for cost , used fir a quick breakfast but better places nearby . Worst coffee in any hotel room we have had in the US. Shame Westin please look at comments . All desk and foyer staff were excellent

Stayed at Westin for 4 nights from 28/2/24 with Virgin Holidays. From JFK we used the Airtrain (contactless $8) and LIRR ( $5 from machine which takes cash and card) Really easy. Helpful staff in Jamaica station on machines. Walked from Penn station about 15 minutes up 8th Avenue. Took about 1 hour from airport to hotel. Better than minibus transfers we have used previously. We were greeted on entering reception area by very pleasant young man who welcomed us to hotel with bottle of cold water which was very welcome after walk from station! Check in was quick. $150 deposit taken off card which was refunded on departure. We did not have the Virgin room upgrade due to requesting a low floor. We had free premium WiFi with Virgin which worked well. Virgin holidays paid resort fees and we received $20 per day food and beverage credit from Virgin on top of $30 from hotel. Vanessa on reception was adamant that the Virgin credit was per stay but it is per night. $50 a day sounds a lot but it didn’t go far though. Only options for breakfast were buffet at $50 each or room service. Room service worked well. Order on phone and gives you cost clear. There are a lot of taxes and tips. To give you an idea, we had avocado on toast every day for two people. That was $50 per day. Very expensive but it was delicious and nicely presented. Our room was on 18th floor looking down on 8th Avenue and views of Hudson in distance. Had opening window but we kept closed. Street/traffic noise bearable except for road works one night. Bathroom had everything you needed and hot water plentiful. No robes as advertised though. Large room with two very comfortable double beds, plenty of storage, alarm clock, large tv, large wardrobe, hairdryer, ironing board, free safe and coffee maker. Two bottles of water per day. They did not replenish tea for some reason but we got some from reception. We were very comfortable. Beds lovely. We could control temperature. Lifts were fast and efficient. We only had a long wait for lift one night when group of school children staying. Great location. Minutes from theatres. Subway station, various fast food outlets, bakery, cinema, 7-Eleven and even Target (Tesco) underneath hotel. Port authority bus station across road if you want to go to Jersey Gardens shopping. 15 minutes walk to Macy’s, Rockefeller, Central Park and river. You can access hotel through cinema on 42nd street which was useful and we used this many times as escalator was out of order on main entrance during our stay. Reception is on first floor. On departure day we had late checkout to 1 pm and we were able to store our bags. Included in the resort fees you could have one ticket per night to the American history museum, river cruise or one observatory. We opted for river cruise. Unfortunately John booked us on wrong day so we had a wasted journey and had to go another day which ruined our schedule. The walk to boat took 15 minutes and Cruise was really good. We wanted to go to museum or observatory but he would only give us another one ticket despite staying for four nights! Gave up with him! Overall it was a pleasant place to stay and felt clean and safe. Staff were really nice and helpful and it was a lovely place to come back to late at night after theatre shows. Not as luxurious as I expected given price but very comfortable. Would I stay again? Yes. Just be aware that staff on reception need to be reminded of Virgin benefits/upgrades as this can be stressful. Hope this is helpful to people thinking of going from U.K. with Virgin holidays.

My recent stay 3/11-3/12 was met with outstanding curbside service who made it easy to navigate the hotel process. Front desk was pleasant and very helpful. The room was immaculate and very comfortable (26th floor). The Foundry restaurant was delicious and the staff very accommodating, in particular a server named Augusto (Goose) whose smile could light up the room and attentiveness was very much appreciated. Thank you to all.

Do not stay at this hotel, there is no service at all, they will charge you a destination fee to give you a food credit for a food service that is closed the majority of the time, basically take your money and make it very hard to get it back via credit, and if there is anything you need, forget it, you can ring and ask, then ask again, then they will let the phone ring out, best advice there are many other hotels in this city, stay at one of them. This hotel is still being run and serviced as if Covid was still happening with very few services up and running and is poorly staffed.

I must express my profound disappointment following my recent stay at The Westin at Times Square New York. From the outset, it was evident that the level of service provided fell far short of expectations, with numerous instances of rudeness displayed by various staff members. Instead of a welcoming atmosphere, I encountered indifference and inefficiency. The concierge staff, in particular, appeared more preoccupied with their personal conversations than attending to guests' needs. When I sought assistance with retrieving my bag, I was met with nothing but disdain, further exacerbating my frustration. As for the accommodations, they left much to be desired. The hotel exuded an air of antiquity, reminiscent of a budget motel rather than a luxury establishment. The dimly lit hallways and lackluster shower experience only added to the overall sense of disappointment. While the comfort of the beds provided some respite, it was not enough to salvage the experience. Despite this, the hotel still insists on presenting itself as a high-end destination, which is a far cry from reality. I also must address the outrageous $30 resort fee charged by The Westin at Times Square New York. It seems ridiculous for the hotel to charge such an amount upfront and then claim that guests can use these credits to offset, their meals at in-house restaurants, claim tickets to attractions etc. It makes no sense and sounds a lot more like a scam than anything else. Furthermore, the man at the reception responsible for issuing these tickets as part of the resort fee was not only rude but also exuded an air of frustration that seemed directed at everything and everyone. His demeanour only served to exacerbate the already poor experience, adding insult to injury. In conclusion, I cannot in good conscience recommend The Westin at Times Square New York. With its subpar service and underwhelming accommodations, it fails to meet even the most basic standards of hospitality. A rating of no more than 4 out of 10 would be generous. Save yourself the trouble and seek lodging elsewhere in the area for a more satisfactory experience.

Stayed for 5 nights mainly to sightsee but also watch some shows on Broadway. Overall a great stay. Room was great and bed very comfortable. Breakfast was decent with plenty of variety. Location was perfect. Was able to walk to Harry Potter and Hamilton. And only minutes from the centre of Times Square. When I visit New York again, I’d certainly stay at the Westin again.

I stayed at this hotel with my family on a trip at the end of January. The check in process was easy and the attendant was able to provide me with early check in without having to ask. The lobby is beautiful and modern looking. Our room was a 2 queen Grand room. The room was a good size. It seemed dated compared with the hotel common areas. The beds, bedding and pillows were actually quite comfortable. The room was clean except for a bench seat at the window that looked dingy and had some stains. The location was convenient with many restaurants in close proximity. Overall, the experience was good and I might stay here again.

Hotel lovely. Room just about big enough for 4 adults. Beds extremely comfortable. Could have done with a kettle instead of a coffee machine with 2 pods a day. And more water please. Hotel in a perfect location for first time visitors to New York. Staff pleasant and helpful

An ideal location for exploring. Easy walking distance for majority of NYCs main sites as well as access to subway stations. Hotel room itself was comfortable but dated with some furniture showing significant wear and tear. As a Marriot Bonboy member the hotel were able to accommodate our early check in and late check out which allowed us to maximise our time in New York.

Great stay at the Westin. Great location and a 2 minute walk to Times Square. Lots of places to get food on your doorstep. Lovely lobby area and bar (does not open all day). Room was modern, clean and spacious, although it was a dark. Loved the gym. I would not hesitate the recommend the hotel to others and will be staying here when I visit again.
