The location of this is hostel is quite good, not far from Central Park and the subway. It was a little cheaper than the hostels in Midtown. As other reviewers commented, the staff was not exactly nice. As in most US hostels, there were as many beds in the rooms as they could possibly fit. Was difficult to find a... More

I stayed here last september but have only just found the time to post this. Had to swap rooms through the week, manager would not let me put an open top bag in a locker in the new room although i couldnt recheckin till 3pm. She took it down to the basement and assured me it would be safe. Came... More

First, I know a lot of reviewers have commented that while the hostel might not have been what they hoped for, they feel as if it was fine for the price. Let me be clear that I stayed in six different hostels during my stay in NYC, all within the same price range, give or take $5. I stayed in... More

I liked this place, but being New York and cheap I had absolutely no expectations. The best part is the location on the upper east side. You can't beat it. As a solo female I felt safe to go out at night, catch a movie or do some shopping and it was great. Easy subway ride into town, and so... More

This is a great place to stay in NYC if you're on a budget. Breakfast is good and the rooms are clean and affordable. There are both private rooms and dorms - all with shared bath in the hall. Situated on the upper east side it is a little far from the hectic New York, but none the less the... More

I booked 4 nights in this hostel via Hostelworld 3 weeks in advance, received the confirmation and paid the deposit as usual. One day before I was due to arrive I got an email saying that the place was no longer available, leaving me to scramble and find what few places were left in the city. I still haven't got... More

I was treated well here. Good low price and accomodations. The hostel is basic as there is a small looby and kitchen. The rooms are basic bunk beds and a general shower area which could have been cleaner if givien proper attention by the staff. The nice thing for me was in the room were folks from France, Sweden, Columbia... More

It was a very good trip, we stayed in the 10 bed ensuite. It had air conditioning which was really good for how warm it is in the evening in new york in the summer. The room was clean and tidy and had plenty of room with lockers. The breakfast was good toast and coffee which is a perfect way... More

The room was warm, bright, smelt of cleaning products (without being overpowering!!), staff were friendly around the clock and was nearby to the subway station. Not luxurious, but we weren't expecting that, and can't comment on the breakfast as we were usually out and about by the time. No signs of the bedbugs that were said to be plaguing the... More

From reviews this hostel sounded pretty good but let me tell you "it's a shocker". Stayed here for 5 nights (pre-booked) in a double room in October - we were treated to surly, disinterested staff and rooms that just needed a good scub e.g. hairs in bed, and mould throughout. The shared bathroom was horrific and not sure if i... More
