If you are looking for a low key, elegant, old school NYC hotel this is it. There's no flash here which considering what has happened to the Plaza is a good thing. Yes, the rooms are on the small side, it's NYC but the service is top notch. The Cafe Carlyle is wonderful (not the food, which is dreadful) but... More

There are many fine hotels in New York and my wife and I have stayed at many of them, all of which included or were within walking distance of a nightclub, such as The Blue Note, Birdland, or Feinstein's, but our finest and most satisfying experiences have been at the Cafe Carlyle located in the Hotel Carlyle. The management and... More

This updates my review in 2004. I must confess that I have threatened to go other places to stay in NYC, but we always end up at the Carlyle. I had some reservations when Rosewood bought the hotel, but,if anything, it is better than ever. The thing that separates The Carlyle from anywhere else, is the quality of the service.... More

Always enjoy my stay here. Won't stay anywhere else! Close to everything I enjoy in New York. Very impressed with staff's attention to detail. Men at the door were very kind to get me a cab too - much appreciated!!

Over priced and poor value. Snooty atmosphere. TV did not work, safe did not function. Treats in room past date and stale.

After reading your review today I am extremely upset about the situation described. Your experience is certainly not in keeping with what our hotel stands for and is about. It is deeply regrettable. We take all feedback on the hotel quite seriously and strive to improve our standards at all times. I would welcome an opportunity to discuss these issues... More

Without a shadow of any doubt this property in my personal opinion is the best property in New York. From the moment you arrive outside the building to when you leave, there is nothing that I have for the property, experience or team but praise. When you step inside you are in a different era, where service is of the... More

I stayed at the Carlyle for a small meeting in NYC for a long weekend. The hotel was in a good location on the upper East side, quick walks to the Metropolitan Museum of Art and the Frick Collection on 5th Avenue, and a block away from the Whitney. Great for window shopping on Madison Avenue. It seemed that a lot of... More
