We had last year a superior room which we found satisfactory. Near by is Times Square, the music-house Birdland, restaurant Row, and the hotel has a breakfast restaurant with reasonable menue. We have stayed there many times, and have found it price-worth with everything just close by

Stayed at this hotel for a couple of nights in May 2012. The hotel itself has an "art deco" styled lobby area with cafe off the main entrance. Hotel is very old an needs upgrades. We change 3 times the room. Just returned from New York and stayed at The Edison Hotel. This hotel is located in a prime location, only a few yards from Time Square and Broadway, within walking distance of most attractions. The Edison is in a great location right by Times Square. A little bit tired and basic. Also quite noisy due to passing traffic and drone of the air conditioning units on the office block opposite - not loud but a persistent hum. Take ear plugs.

The first few times I visited I used this hotel for location.However the last two visits the rooms have been refurbished and what a difference.I now will always use the hotel out of choice for location,staff,service and pleasant rooms.

The Hotel is well located but the service in general is not good. The attendants were not polite enough with us. We had a problem with the room shower that was not solved while we were hosted there. The room we stayed didn't have a mini-bar or a mini refrigerator.
